It wasn’t unusual for jin to disappear for months on end only to reappear as if nothing ever happened. he had a track record for removing his traces of his own existence without a single word, no syllable leaving his lips and prints were erased without a single breath drawn from his charred lungs. hues of charcoal that flicker, hands grabbing onto his daughter’s own as his gaze scans the store for foods to fill his empty fridge at home. he knew how busy eunji’s work life can get, thus here he was today... doing the unthinkable. his other hand grasping onto a basket of food, filled with various things from bread and sweets to spices. his daughter continuously pointing at the array of colours displayed on the shelves only to get a strong no. candy was bad, especially for the young ones, he would tell her only to receive a grumpy pout.
strands of almost white hair wavering beneath aircon of the grocery store, as he trails up and down the aisles looking for food. upon doing so, a young pair of boys running past him, giggling pursuing in their trail as they ran to the counter with a bunch of lollies in their hands, his own daughter giggling along with them as she stood by his side. in times like these, he became reminiscent of the childhood he had missed out on, his parents ( if you could even consider them as that ) disowned him, his grandfather having to take care of him even up till this day. and he remembers the days of younger jin, running around in the playground playing tag, with his best friend ( @wykimminki ), they did everything together. they were young boys that knew nothing about the changing world before them. but before he could properly tell minki his farewells, he had disappeared. and without a trace he never saw them again.
he moved to wonyang shortly after, his grandfather training him to be the future heir of the dragons, causing his entire demeanour to change. balled up fists, albeit being small were strong enough to collide with those who even dared to look in his direction with the incorrect gaze. he became impatient, angry and irrational. he became everything he did not expect himself to become, yet here he was. everything he was trained to be. a sigh leaving him, as his daughter looks up at him in concern, he raises his brows at her signifying that he was fine.
