Evie was furious, this debate was one that she had constantly but her logic seemed to be only stupidity to those around her. Maybe she was too hopeful, she wanted to put so much hope and belief into the idea that they were still human when everyone else could see that that idea had left the men long, long ago.
“Man’s natural instinct is to survive. We could be in the exact same situation and I highly doubt that we wouldn’t resort to this had we been stuck long enough.” Everyone reverted back to that instinct, she was sure, there was too much at stake, too much of a want to live for the mind to not revert back to the very basics of survival. “The human race was built on basic instinct. We do what we have to to carry on. We kill people for a living, that is a basic instinct would you not say?”
The Assassin was getting far too deep into this argument when it was probably just a passing comment to begin with. She was letting her heart win over her head and she had a feeling that this conversation wasn’t going to end as soon as they both wanted it to.
