So, question(s).
1. Why are xreader fics so much more popular than oc fics?
2. What really constitutes the difference between a reader and an OC? Like obviously the name and appearance, but is it okay for a reader to have a backstory? Or is that too OC?
Honestly just wondering because ig I've always read OC as though I was those OCs, and I do kinda feel like the YN thing is more jarring than just having an actual name there (and I don't even fill it in with my name, anyways).
