Mia peeked around the tree and waved over Anice. "Why did I agree to this again?" She whispered. Mia rolled her eyes. "'Cause you want to see cute princes." She said scooting over a bit. Anice bit her lip, not denying that she had crushes on 2 certain princes. Anice followed Mia to the wall where Mia had managed to pull herself up. Pulling up her blue Hanbok a little, Anice climbed up as well.
The girls sat on the edge of the wall where they could see the princes without being spotted by the guards. They ate their packed lunch that Anice had made and watched the princes play. "If only we could play with them..." Mia sighed. "We could. But, then wouldn’t we be arrested?" Anice said, stating the obvious. They were lost in thought before hearing a voice call up to them.
"Why are you up there?" They snapped out of their thoughts and looked down alerted. At the bottom of the wall stood Sehun, who was also the same age as Mia. He held a ball in his hands. Mia looked at Anice for help, and it seemed she was doing the same. "I- Uhm...We..." They couldn't think of anything.
The other princes who thought Sehun was taking so long came over to where he was. "Dude what's taking so-" Luhan stops mid-sentence to look at the girls above them, who were still trying to assess the situation.
Sehun pointed up to the girls "They were here when I came over. I saw they had a dosirak. I think they ate lunch up there." Mia looked like she was about to strangle the boy who was the same height as her friend.
"Maybe we should run..." Mia whispered to Anice. Anice shook her head. "Not possible now..." She said a bit too loudly. Mia mentally facepalmed. "Come down." A stern voice said. It was straight-faced Kris. "Unnie, we could weigh our-" But, Anice had already jumped down. Glaring at her friend, Mia jumped down as well.
Anice stood for a second, seeing if Mia would explain. Nope. She sighed and explained how Mia found the place around a year ago and brought her along just in case they got into trouble (I'm sorry, Anice). Mia kicked the dirt with her head bowed low.
"So, how'd you not get caught by the guards?" Kai asked. "We've been shortcutting through the woods recently, to avoid getting in trouble with the guards..." Anice felt her heart beating faster due to all 12 pairs of eyes on her.
"You guys wanna play?" Sehun had the ball in his hands still. "We could...But, we can't." Anice stated. "Why?" Sehun asked. Anice pointed to her long skirt. "I mean I most likely could. I'm not sure about her, though." Anice pointed at Mia. Mia scowled at her friend. "I can too!" She pouts.
"Well, c'mon then!" Sehun yelled as he ran off. The princes, Anice, and Mia all ran after him. They played and had as much fun as they could before the girls had to leave. The princes waved as the girls climbed back over the wall, back to their home, with their stuff.
The girls went to that garden almost every day for half a year. Mia had developed feelings for a certain puppy looking boy who liked to sit next to her when Anice went to go play with the guys. But, soon they wouldn't be able to even go near the princes in the future.
A couple days later, the oldest prince, Xiumin, had gotten attacked by a wolf. A half-wild one. Anice had gone out that day to shop, while Mia stayed home to do the chores. Anice came home with the basket full, but she didn't have a happy look on her face like she usually did. "Mia...?" Anice looked at Mia, whose back was turned to her. "Yeah?" She asked.
"I have some Bad News," Anice said sitting on a chair. "What do you mean?" Mia turned around her attention fully on Anice. "You know that wolf you sorta tamed?" She asked. Mia nodded. "Xiumin got attacked by her. And people are saying...That she's yours. That you...intended for him to be dead." Mia shook her head, not believing her.
