If there was one thing Amelia’s late-grandfather instilled in her, it was the importance of being on time. In fact, to him, being “on time” was late. He usually was to everything ten minutes early.
Unfortunately, today, Amelia was not on time--by his standards or by S.H.I.E.L.D.’s. Instead, she was tied up on the phone with a Senator’s aide, only to now be free to go to her meeting.
She came into the conference room, her left arm clutching a stack of files to her chest, dressed in a simple black pants suit and white blouse, her hair pulled back into a tight bun. She gave a polite but sheepish grin to both the S.H.I.E.L.D. official running the meeting and their guest from Xavier’s mansion.
“My apologies for being late,” Amelia began and awkwardly cleared her throat before she stepped further into the room and sat down across from the X-Men member chosen for this mission as quickly and quietly as she could.
“Right...” the older woman began, none too amused by her colleague’s tardiness, watching sharply as Amelia took her seat. “Now, if we can get started...”
