X is for X-O-Dus
X-O-Dus were the only reggae act on the Factory label, having impressed Tony Wilson and Alan Erasmus with their unsigned work. Their lone release with Factory was the single "English Black Boys," produced by the well-known Dennis Bovell; though they played a number of live shows for the label (and many more honouring it since its demise), the other planned releases, one single and one full album, never came to pass. Like a surprising number of Factory bands, X-O-Dus are still together and still playing gigs, including joining other former Factory acts onstage and participating in "ex-Factory" nights.
