It was the day after the bonfire and everything from the night before was a little bit of a blur. Geles remembered having a good time, doing shots and sitting around the fire with her friends laughing and cutting up. She also remembered being cornered by Drew, the things he said to her, and then he fact that he refused to bring his drunk ass back to the party. She’d be lying if she said she didn’t spend the rest of her evening worrying about him. Should she have? Absolutely not. He didn’t deserve it nor did he deserve the time she was taking out of her day to walk through his house with a box full of his things. After being let in by his mother and receiving a glare in response to her greeting, Geles made her way into the den where she knew Drew would be. It seemed his mom was still harboring some hard feelings after hearing the explosion that was their breakup. She couldn’t blame her, she just wondered if the older woman knew exactly what her son had been doing to lead Geles to that point. The thoughts that consumed her mind all came to a screeching halt the moment Geles stepped into the living room and found Drew asleep on the couch. He was in nothing but his boxers which wasn’t anything new but since they weren’t together, it made her shift in place. “—Rise and shine,” she voiced abruptly, dropping the box onto the floor to cause a loud boom against the tile.
