               ❛   you’re lucky, you know. other people wouldn’t be this nice.   ❜   is mumbled, just loud enough to hear over the scrubbing. he didn’t ASK how this happened, where all the blood came from, because he usually doesn’t. asking questions, getting INVOLVED in any way; it usually wasn’t a great idea. but he finds himself wanting to ask. this was more of a favor at this point, anyway, & he can’t say he isn’t SURPRISED.               ❛   — most other folk would call the cops.   ❜   he appears amused by his own statement,   ❛   they wouldn’t take hours scrubbin’ every ounce of evidence clean for a little peace of mind an’ NO CHARGE.   ❜   that last part — even rowan wouldn’t, usually. maybe he feels PITY.
