THE FIRST THING that registered when violet began to wake up was the pounding in her head, the resounding pain that just seemed to be everywhere. after a few moments, the sting of a few cuts came to the forefront as well. her temple was bruised, a cut bandaged within it, and a few cuts on her cheek, as well as her hands and arm accompanied her list of injuries. as her eyes blinked open, the bright white light of the hospital room greeted her and she immediately screwed her eyes shut with a whimper.
THAT SMALL SOUND signalled to the nurse in the room that she was awake, as she felt their presence. “t-the lights,” she whispered out, hearing shuffling feet before she was told that they had been dimmed, and violet tried again, blinking her eyes open slowly. her head still hurt but the dimmed lights didn’t make it worse. “what--- what happened?”
“THERE WAS A BREAK IN in your apartment, they knocked you out, luckily your neighbours heard it and called it in.” the nurse told her, and thankfully her voice was soft, quiet, she wasn’t sure she could handle anything louder right now. violet tried to nod but winced, “you have a few cuts and scrapes, as well as a concussion.”
LUCKILY, VIOLET DIDN’T NEED to nod to show that she understood, instead she just gave a small thumbs up. she was about to ask if they had called anyone when she started to hear a familiar voice, far away but already enough to have her cringing from the volume. the nurses had called leo to tell him that she had been admitted.
