LEO PUSHED A HAND THROUGH his hair, nodding slowly in confirmation. “yeah,” he let out gently. he had. he failed to realize that his feelings for addie were there the whole time, they’d merely bubbled up to the surface at the party. “i don’t think it really matters, though. she likes kai and he likes her, too.”

violet chewed on the inside of her cheek, considering her options for what to say but really, what could she say for this? “it might matter. does she like you?” she asked, arching a single brow in question.

can you blame me for thinking otherwise? Caspar parted his lips to respond, but stopped himself as he couldn’t really blame her for thinking the way she had. Caspar swallowed and thanked God that he had put away everything before Violet had entered the room. It was a personality trait that he hadn’t left behind, one that he probably should have. I had a couple bad meetings with and adviser and… that guy I was seeing left, so we ended things. Licking his lips, he made his way over and sat down on the couch opposite Violet. “Oh. Umm, I’m sorry to hear that?” he said awkwardly, not really sure what to say to that. His gaze dropped to his hands and he pulled at a piece of skin. “I’m sorry, Vi, I just… I’m a little confused. With how things ended between us, I… I didn’t think I would be the person you’d want to come see after something like that? Not that I mind you being here, absolutely not, but… I’m just a little confused, that’s all.” 

VIOLET sighed as she ran a hand through her hair, trying to thnk over her answer to his question but she wasn’t sure she really had one as to why she came here besides the fact that she had wanted to. “well my best friend left town, my brother.. he never knew we were together so there’s no way in hell i can talk to him about it.” she tried to offer as her explanation, pulling her sleeves down, past her fingers. “things may not have ended well but i.. i don’t know, i missed you.” violet admitted, looking up at him.

You know I never thought you paid that much attention to me before. Caspar looked at Violet, narrowing his eyes a little. “I might have been a little… Off, but I did care about you,” he spoke and swallowing, knowing that she was avoiding the question, and it was obvious that something was going on with her. Something she didn’t want to tell him. “So, what is up? I also know that whenever there is something you don’t want to tell people, you talk about something completely different and you’re doing that right now.” 

VIOLET chewed on the inside of her cheek, “can you blame me for thinking otherwise?” she asked, they never really went past sleeping together, despite how she had begun to feel. she pulled a face, scrunching up her nose before letting out a sigh. violet turned on her heel and made her way further into the room, dropping rather unceremoniously on a chair.”i had a couple bad meeting with an adviser and...” she trailed off as she considered whether to admit this next part. “that guy i was seeing left, so we ended things.”

LEO EXHALED SLOWLY, looking everywhere in the diner except for her. it was almost easier that way. “addie and i kissed,” he let out gently, finally forcing himself to meet his sister’s gaze. “i have feelings for her, too. i told elodie that and – i couldn’t expect her to stay after that.”

HER eyes were wide now, not expecting anything her brother was saying. “wow.. holy crap.” she bit down on her lip as she let herself process this information. “you-- your feelings, they’re the same for both of them?”

look at you, all cute and in love. Dylan laughed and shook his head, shrugging his shoulders in the process. in general or in terms of my love life? “Well, what about both?” he asked and looked at her with raised eyebrows and a gentle smile on his lips. 

VIOLET hummed in thought for a moment, “well i’d say i’m pretty happy in general. i don’t think i’ve found the right person yet but i’m not worried about it or anything.” she replied with a simple shrug of her shoulders.

I can’t just come by and see you because I want to hang out? Caspar blinked and parted his lips to speak, but he stopped himself as he watched her step past him. Maybe I just needed some company. “Oh, um, yeah no of course you can I just… I didn’t think–,” that you would want to see me again; he thought but didn’t say anything. “Are you alright?” he asked as he closed the door in front of him, before turning around to look at Violet. “I recognize that look on your face… Something’s wrong.” 

TRULY, how unsure he seemed did make her second guess herself, made the fake smile slip slightly as she ran a hand through her hair. “you know i never thought you paid that much attention to me before.” she pointed out, somewhat avoiding the question but she really didn’t think he paid any attention to her besides when they slept together. maybe that was foolish and blind of her thought.

“ –– Yeah,” he spoke softly, nodding his head, “I mean, definitely worth it. If I had to do it again, I would. For sure.” Dylan smiled softly at the thought of Malina, and how things had just seemed to click once the two of them had found each other, and especially now that they had found each other again. “And, what about you? Are you happy?”

VIOLET grinned, “look at you, all cute and in love.” she teased, as she brushed the hair from her face. “i general or in terms of my love life?”

Honestly, when a knock came from the hallway and the door to his hotel room, Caspar was more than shocked. First of all, he couldn’t remember telling anyone what room he stayed in and secondly, who on Earth could it be knocking on his door at this hour? Shaking his head, he pushed himself off the couch and he quickly put away anything that could get him in any trouble, just in case it was his manager deciding to just drop by as it had happened before. It almost knocked him over though, when he saw who it was on the other side of the door. Hey… You free? “Violet, um,” he spoke and leaned against the frame of the door, obviously quite surprised and shocked. “Yeah. I mean,” he said and took a step aside, so she could get inside. “What’s up?”

MAYBE caspar wasn’t the most ideal person for her to see, given their past and how things ended but honestly, his company is what violet seeked right now. still, she knew that this was probably a surprise to him. violet kept up a smile though, “i can’t just come by and see you because i want to hang out?” she asked, stepping past him. “maybe i just needed some company.”

LEO LET A soft chuckle emit from his lips at her words nodding a little. “yeah, you’re probably right about that.” he huffed out. his fingers tapped against the table, nervously at that upon hearing her question. he had to tell her. even if he knew how disappointed she would be in him. “elodie and i broke up.”

VIOLET lent her forearms on the table, concern showing on her face as she looked at her brother. he may be older but she was protective of him still. of course she still would never have expected what actually came from his mouth. “oh my god. leo-- what happened?”

VIOLET definitely wasn’t feeling the top of her game right now. she’d just been having a bad week between work and beck, well she needed to let off some steam but she also didn’t want to worry her brother. instead, her mind went to the fact that caspar was back, and well, here she found herself, standing in front of his hotel door. she tucked some hair behind her ear after she knocked and waited for it to open before she offered him a smile. “hey.. you free?”

LEO LET A CHUCKLE emit from his lips, nodding easily in confirmation. “i’m early,” he huffed out just as she had, in disbelief more than anything else. he set the menu down, not even sure as to why he’d bothered looking at it since he always ordered the same thing. “i didn’t wanna keep you waiting. not that i ever do, i just – nevermind. i’m early. that’s all that matters.”

“yeah.. but you’ve never been early. i’m pretty sure you were late for your own birth. so what’s going on?” violet asked, her brows raising at him. maybe it was stupid for some fact like him being early to make her know something was up, but he was her brother. she knew him.

“ –– Questioned whether love is worth growing up or not,” he said and shrugged. “There have been times where I… Where I kind of hoped that I wouldn’t have to grow up because I’ve been so hopelessly in love with someone. Like, back in England, before I met Malina… I got my heart broken, and I didn’t want to grow up and keep getting my heart broken into a million pieces, you know?”

“OH yeah, no i totally understand that.” she truly did, being heartbroken was one of the worst things. “but you’re happy now aren’t you? with malina? was it worth all that just to meet her eventually?”

Winnie wiped down the bar with a rag before tossing it back under into a bucket filled with sanitizer. She hummed to the music playing, eyes wandering to the figures around her. “Sometimes I really wish this bar was like Coyote Ugly. I have the best outfits for it,” she commented, “The only time people dance on bars is when they’re trashed and it’s just-” Winnie trailed off, her face showing her disgust.

"YOU know.. now you’ve just made me really want a coyote ugly bar in treeville. it would be great.” violet spoke, shooting a grin over at winnie. “have you never been drunk enough to want to dance on a bar?”

“I don’t know what’s wrong,” he said not getting a full night of sleep because of Sarah, she’d been crying at night recently, and he couldn’t tell what it was and she wasn’t physically in pain you’d think as a three year old she’d try to ridiculously communicate with him. “I’ve tried everything.”

I always look good Caspar. Work, school, you know how it is. Caspar smiled weakly and nodded, while looking at Violet nervously. It was the truth though; Violet did always look good and he always had looked good. “And, are you seeing anyone? I mean, we haven’t seen each other in a while, and I… I’m just curious, you know.”  

SHE WAS unsure really about how this conversation was going to go considering their last one was them fighting. yet somehow she still knew enough to tell he looked nervous, at least slightly. “i am, actually. a really great guy.” even now, there was a small smile toying at her lips at the thought of beck.

LEO WAS DOING HIS BEST to get back on track. to get himself together again and move forward. he needed that to happen and he would do as much in his power to make it happen. he had to ensure that with everything else falling through the cracks, that his relationship with his sister wasn’t suffering as well. so, he’d asked her to meet him out for dinner, leo’s treat. leo found himself sat in the corner of the usual diner they’d always met at, early for perhaps the first time in his life as he looked over the menu. | @violetalders

VIOLET has been a bit shaken by caspar’s appearance in town, not by his actual presence but rather the memories he had brought up. memories she had long since pushed to the very back of her mind. maybe she had been so wrapped up in that that she hadn’t realised how long it had been since she had a real, one on one conversation with her brother so his invitation had a smile on her face. walking into the diner, she was sending off a last text when she glanced up and spotted leo waiting at the table. she stopped short and glanced down at the time on her phone then back to him, before she was sliding into the booth across from him. “you’re early. you’re never early.”

“I don’t know. I just… I mean, I have a girlfriend right now and I love her. I have loved her for a long time and I think that’s something I’m always going to do. I’m –– I’m always going to love her. I don’t question that, I guess I just… I feel like everyone has questioned it at one point or another, you know?” he spoke and then started to laugh. “I’m sorry, I’m not making much sense right now, now am I?” 

“I GUESS it depends on which part of it you’re questioning.” violet spoke, shrugging a shoulder. “like are you questioning how much or what type or what?” she asked, looking at him curiously, no real judgement.
