THE X-45A DRONE - Boeing’s X-45A on display in the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. This Boeing X-45A Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle (UCAV) scaled demonstrator was built and tested by Boeing's Phantom Works and the Department of Defense's DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) "J-UCAS Project" from 2002-2005. Two of these jet-powered, flying-wing "drones" (inspired by the "Bird of Prey" Program) were produced and flown. Both X-45As could be controlled simultaneously by one operator.
