it was as if time wasn’t even a concept anymore. emmeline didn’t know how long she’d been here or how long ago the other two had left her but she could see a slight light coming from the warehouse doors which indicated that morning was coming. the woman couldn’t have been conscious for all of that time she was alone as it was impossible for someone to struggle for that amount of time. she had managed to free the hand that previously had her bracelet on but the other was still a work in progress.
after she had been physically sick, she could feel herself start to shake from the cold. the soles of bare feet pressing into the cold industrial floor, emmeline was wondering how she would get out of this. nathaniel may have locked her in a room but she was only physically bound when unconscious (the incident had proved she couldn’t be trusted otherwise).
she had gone through periods of aggressively trying to peel back the tape with an unsteady, shaky hand to putting her forehead on the tape and crying. the woman had been missing but it was only for a few hours and it wasn’t like anyone actively wanted to ‘save her’. the sense of impending doom hadn’t shifted and she could see herself withering away, alone in here, wherever here even was.
