It was meant to be a small sketch but, i was vibing so well i kept pushing it into a bit more of a painted style

I'm not going to be able to actually participate more than this, but I still wanted to do something for KHOC Week !

I drifted away from Kingdom Hearts' fandom quite a bit, but this event is still dear to my heart. It definitely made me improve as an artist so much, and it's always such a treat to compare how much my (and other's !) OCs evolved through the years.

Since I wanted to post this on day one, I'll still do quick character introductions :

Here are Plume (on the left) and Xail (on the right) !

Plume is my KHUX keykid, but her story involves time travel that spare her and Strelitzia from the end of the game. They both will lately adopt Xail !

Xail's creation was at first just a way to bring Sora back from KH3's end...

And as I'm typing, I realize their purposes are both rooted in fix-it scenarios. Oops— What can I say, I'm a sucker for happy endings !

...But she evolved to become a new member of the Organisation XIII, where she will meet Roxas, Axel and Xion. She's present throughout KH Days to KH3, which changes the story quite a little !

Even though I'm less present in the fandom now, I still love it and my two girls a lot. And who knows, maybe when KH4 gets out I'll get the drive to finish their story !

Thank you @khoc-week for supporting us creators through the years, and I hope I'll have the time and inspiration for a complete week next year !

KHOC Week Day 1 - Introductions

I’m back this year for the @khoc-week​ ! I really love seeing everyone’s OCs, and the event really helped me flesh out my girls throughout the years. Love on y’all !

Here are my two girls again, Xail and Plume ! Plume is technically the player from KHUX, but she managed to survive and escape in a pod, travelling through time. Xail is a little troublemaker who only wanted to make a friend and ended up having to fight in a war in the process. As you do !

Plume took one look at her and said “Welp. I’m a mom now.” 

I’m not sure their story make sense, I draw them like once a year, but they are always in my brain and I love them to death. I hope you’ll like them too !

KHOC Week Day 5 : Light or Darkness

I didn’t really know how to address this prompt, so I decided to ask the question directly to the girls. 

Light or Darkness ?

Yeah, so, one of them isn’t as lightful as the other... She’s being very smooth about it. 

It’s not that Xail is on “the dark side”, but she’s not as definitive as others may be about light and darkness. She uses dark magic, such as dark corridors, and doesn’t have a keyblade like the others. 

I guess they suggested to bequeath her, because she technically is a warrior of light, but Xail refused. She witnessed the troubles that comes along with a keyblade. She already has enough on her plate without it !

While drawing, I thought about the fact that she is close to Riku on this subject : on the side of light but using darkness if needed.

Thus :

Watch them win their fight with the power of friendship... And also darkness ! Nothing will go wrong :D

KHOC Week Day 3 : Friends or lovers

Today, we’re going to talk about my girls’ lovers ! I was. So hyped for this day for some reason. 

I think it’s because I never really talked about Xail’s love life ? Mostly because it’s not a major plot point at all. However, I had a crush on Roxas when I was nine, and decided to indulge my child self with this OC.

I just love the idea of them naturally growing closer without even realizing it ? I drew this with the idea that they weren’t dating yet. They’re just really comfortable with each other, and not even thinking about love until one day it just. Hits.

Xail be like “Haha, I love him. Oh no I love him”

And what’s best but to ask advices to her parents in that case ?

Well, one may have more experiences in trying to make the other understand they have a crush on them. 

I don’t think I’m surprising anyone by revealing that Plume is dating Strelitzia. I mean, my most popular post on Tumblr is this one :

I’d like to talk about Xail and Plume’s friends too, but this post is getting pretty long, and I don’t think I’ll manage to do something for every day, so... Maybe I’ll use this prompt again later this week ? Or maybe next year...

KHOC Week Day 4 5 : Alternative Universes

Today is a day that is a little scary to me, since I want to share some of my writing for the first time !

I'm constantly writing about KH, and my current obsession has been to imagine an highschool AU with the KH kids. I know, taking away the magic isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I was inspired !

The main characters of this fic would be Xail and Vanitas, who would meet... In a closet. Thus, I eloquently call it "The closet AU"

The first paragraphs are under the cut ! It's not too long, less than 1000 words.

Sometimes, Xail was able to function with very little sleep. Her insomnias were tough, and she was used to short nights. 

But today wasn't one of these days.

She fought to stay awake for the whole hour before lunch, too focused on keeping her eyes open to listen to the teacher. 

And she knew for a fact it wouldn't do any good long term.

So she grabbed a sandwich at the cafeteria and decided to find a hiding spot to sleep during the break. If she could only get one hour, it would probably get her back on track, at least for the rest of the day.

She had noticed one of the stairs had a space below it, and though it was closed by a door, it was worth trying. Thankfully the corridor around was empty, probably because everyone was eating.

But no one waited for Xail during breaks anyway.

Pushing the door, she realized it was unlocked. If that wasn't a sign that it was the perfect spot, she didn't know what would be !

She entered, closed the door and enjoyed the dark for a minute. 

Just a minute, because before she knew it, she was fast and sound asleep.

It really was the perfect spot.

Vanitas Hated people, with a capital H. If school had taught him one thing, it was that everyone had their own way of being insufferable. He'd rather spend his whole time alone, even though he didn't particularly find his own company pleasant either.

But everything was better than a conversation with people who forced smiles to conceal how much they thought he was a freak.

Thus, like a freak, he hid in a hole.

Well, not a real hole. More like an abandoned closet. 

The thing was out of use and sealed off, but nothing that his studded boots hadn't been able to open.

And as long as he was careful to close after he left, no one would know better.

That was what he thought.

But two days ago, he found his closet open. It was empty, so he thought nothing of it. Well, that wasn't true ; he did think something, and it was : "fucking wind".

Today, though, he opened the door, and someone was there.

" - What the hell ?! "

It got out before he could think of anything else.

There was a girl. In his hiding spot.

And she was sleeping.

Well, she had been.

" - Dude, " she just said, hiding her eyes from the light.

Vanitas felt inexplicable shame, realizing someone found this closet. And he hated that.

" - Get the fuck out ! " He grunted, teeth gritted. " That's my spot ! "

The girl sighed.

" - Yeah, well that was also mine.

  - Since when ?? "

He had spent all his breaks there since the year before, so obviously this girl was a liar.

" - Since last week, actually. "

...But he hadn't been in school last week.

Of course. Of fucking course the week where he wasn't here, someone discovered his spot.

Somewhere deep down, he knew his anger was unexplained, and that it was silly to get worked up for a closet.

But it had been his private hidden spot for a year now.

Who was this girl to claim it as her own ? 

" - Look, I've been spending my time here since a whole fucking year now, and it's only for one reason : being alone. So if you don't get out of here, I'll make you. "

She looked pretty unimpressed, which was infuriating. Half the school was scared of him. Why would this newbie be so indifferent ? 

" - Ok, " she started, " I don't know why you hide here, but I slept like 4 hours in two nights, and I'm hanging on by a very thin thread right now. I'm not even sure I could walk away if I wanted to. You can do whatever you want, I'm about to pass out anyway, so please, close the goddamn door. "

At this moment, he could have grabbed her and threatened her. He meant it when he said he could've made her leave ; he fought bigger people than her, and she didn't even look that heavy.

But something in the fact that her bravery was only sleep deprivation had maybe, just a tad, made this girl's presence more bearable. And it was maybe, just possibly, because it made him think about himself.

He closed the door, furious that he was listening to her.

" - You rock, " she declared, and he heard her turn over. 

He would sulk for way longer than he'd ever want to admit, conflicted about the fact that it was nice to hear.

That's it for now ! I just wanted to show their personality and the context, but it's still a draft. And since I drew a little something for this AU just yesterday, I decided to add it as well :

...Where Xail ends up by buying Vanitas' friendship with chocolate !

That's it for today, and probably the rest of the week ! If I post anything else for this year it'll probably be late. So I'll only watch the other posts and wish you all a nice end of the week !

Hi and welcome for the 4th day of the @khoc-week ! And today we’re talking about :

Determination

I wanted to focus on Xail and her role in the canon story. This is probably going to be a lot of rambling, long post incoming !

The story of before Xail became a nobody and why might change later, because I’m not satisfied with it, but here’s what I have for now : she moved to Twilight Town as a kid because heartless attacked her original world and will meet Roxas here. At first she's kind of worried (he's still pretty emotionless and the coat doesn't help), but they'll befriend each other and she'll show him what "being a real kid" looks like.

This side of the story is unclear, but : she'll become a nobody, and Xemnas will decide to make her a part of the Organization XIII. The idea is that seeing Roxas and Xion are having doubts and distancing themselves from the Organization, he'll bring someone who he knows is close to Roxas to at least have one keyblade wielder who'll stay for as long as he needs them. (I like the idea that he has eyes everywhere, and that he knew about their friendship.) This means Xail is just a pawn, but he'll make her believe she's as important as the other... And it will backfire when she learns the truth.

She isn't here to see Roxas fight Xion, but she will try to find where he went after he left the Organization. She'll only find Sora, right after he woke up... And understand what happened.

After a LOT of events (I'm feeling like this post is too long already lmao), she will join the warriors of light's side, and try to help with the soon-to-come war. While Sora is searching for the power of waking, she'll continue to search about how to bring a heart back (and here is finally today's drawing :)

She's reading Ansem's notes, but an updated version since she's also working with him to bring her friends back (also she's reluctant to trust him because of what he did to Roxas... So reading his book is better than a talk). And she's stuck on the 'connection' thing because WHO ISN'T ?? (When Roxas comes back he says he only needed a 'connection' left... And it means everything and nothing to me lmao)

At this point of the story, Riku care for Xail and consider her an ally (which was not the case before, he didn't know who she was and was very wary of her). Riku is worried to see her work so late, because I guess this guy knows what overworking yourself looks like. However he doesn't feel legitimate to help because of what he did to Roxas : he feels like he is the starter point of Xail's problems.

As a bonus, here is a little comic I made months ago where they talk about this. I feel like it would feat in the theme "Question" of the Alphabet Prompts !

I'll leave it here ! I hope I haven't lost anyone on the way, and that my rambles made sense !

Hi and welcome for the @khoc-week​ ! (also known as : the only time of the year where I post regularly)

I am so glad to be back this year, although the timing wasn’t very good for me (I can’t draw this week at all, so the last drawing I made was Saturday). I am happy to say I have something to post every day, but some of them will be finished and fleshed out drawings, when other will be drafts.

But let’s stop with the talking, and start with the first prompt :

Appearance !

I am bringing back my two girls, Xail and Plume ! 

(I used the drawing base suggested by the khoc week account to draw these)

This year, I have decided to talk more about their "following canon" story.

Plume (in red) is my KHUX OC. I am proud to say that : she lived ! However I am actually currently making a comic to tell her story (spoiler : Strelitzia lives), so I won’t tell too much about how she manages to get into the god damn time machine (ihatetimetravel). She will be around during kh3 though, but won't know enough to help while the war is happening.

Xail was a nobody (the 15th member of Organization XIII I guess, no matter how weird that sounds). She grew close to the sea salt trio, and when Xion and Roxas disappear (and to my sorrow, she only remember the latter one), she has a fight with Axel regarding the way to bring them back : he thinks Xemnas’ Kingdom Hearts is the way, she does not. She’ll be kind of a loner during KH2, but will eventually grow close to Sora, who thinks she’s just this weird girl who helps him with the organization :)

She is the principal person working on bringing Roxas back, (and is a representation of my frustration concerning the way Xion and him were brought back without really going deep into it)

(She'll keep the name Xail even after getting her heart back for... Some reason)

The two of them eventually meet, and Plume actually adopts Xail ! And yes, part of the reason why I made a big mess out of timeline was just for them to meet... Your honor, in my defense, I love them,

Last little precision : the clothes I draw them in would be like their "endgame" outfits. I think I only drew Xail with the organization coat this week, and Plume will mostly have her UX outfit.

Well, that was a lot more talking than I was expecting ! See you tomorrow !
