it wasn’t going to be a good night, and he could feel it in his gut.
the pouring rain outside his window somehow didn’t keep his mind at peace as it used to, instead the thunder stroke like a warning right through his chest.
the phonecall he got only confirmed his fear. they knew.
he always made sure to have no attachments. getting close to anyone only proved to be a weakness they could exploit and god knows he had many enemies ready to take the opportunity to hurt him.
andrew was the first thought to strike. his coat was hurriedly thrown over his shoulders before he ran out of the loft. he couldn’t be bothered to take the car, his mind didn’t even register it as an option—no. the gym was only a few blocks away and running was his best bet.
his thoughts were racing all the way over. getting involved with andrew was a mistake and he knew it from day one, but his feelings had gotten the best of him for the first time in forever, though the situation at hand was enough to remind him he had to cut and run—as soon as he made sure andrew was safe.
the doors to the gym were flung open and the silence inside it was anything but reassuring. “ ANDREW !! ” he’d called out as he ran through the ring to the locker rooms. “ Andr— ” the scarlet pool against the other’s pale feet caused his heart to stop and skip a beat. the body beside him was familiar, but it wasn’t the problem at hand. stumbling feet carry him to the other, and his hands gain a will of their own as they roam his chest and his arms so as to make sure none of that blood was his own. “ are you alright ?! god please tell me you’re alright— ”
