There really is so much more to her than just a helpless damsel in distress, in fact she’s really not like that at all~

[ I can totally see this, especially since after every chapter I see people complain about something. So far Camilla hasn’t had a big fight, I can honestly see lots of posts saying how she isn’t important to the crew. Or even say she’s not a permanent member of the crew (due to the 10 members rumors that’s been going around before I was even born). There would definitely be comparison posts of her with other girls we’ve seen since Camilla’s debut. Rebecca, Carrot, Reiju, Kiku, talking about how they do more for the crew/ would be a better strawhat than Camilla. 

And yeah the “she’s just there for fanservice” calling her the strawhat’s maid or something else ridiculous. Tbh I want to draw her in the ninja outfit Oda showed Nami and Robin in a few chapters back. But people went yucky on those and I saw lots of edits of people “fixing” them. ]

As fate would have it, the two had been separated during another seasonal holiday. Whether she would like to admit it, Sahar had looked forward to spending those off days with him considering how busy she had been lately with researching a new case study with Law. Instead, Usopp had been entrusted with delivering her present to Sanji. It was a long letter coupled with a new cologne that she had come across which she thought he would enjoy. The price was a little on the steeper side but she knew it was worth the investment due to the quality of the ingredients that it was made with.

It truly saddens me to know that we can’t be together once more due to differences in schedules, but I honestly appreciate how understanding you have been about my work. Know that I am constantly thinking of you and your health, which I hope hasn’t changed. When we do get to see one another, I hope that we can take a whole day to ourselves? I realize that this is a selfish request, considering you have others to take care of, however you deserve a break as well. I want to let you know that I love you now and always.

Missed holidays left the cook feeling lethargic with longing. Celebrating with the people he considered his closest friends and family helped, but it wasn’t the same without her. On a day like today, he wanted someone to hold, someone he could kiss and profess his undying love for. The feelings were the same whether they were said in a letter or said in person, but he was aching for her.

Reading the letter helped to some extent, but it was with a heavy heart that he replied to her.

     My Rose,

          I know you’re worried, so I’m going to tell you first that I’m perfectly fine.           There’s nothing to worry about, I swear. It’s not like I can lie about it           because Chopper would tell you right away if anything was wrong with me.

          If you asking for one day together is selfish, what does that make me           when I want to spend my every waking moment with you? I really am           trying to be patient. You work so hard, and you’re doing so much on           your own. I don’t want you to ever feel like I’m rushing you, or that I’m           unhappy. But the day we can finally be together for good, I will be the           happiest man alive.

          You are my heart. You are my soul.

          When we see each other next, you are going to be reminded of that all           over again! Keep yourself safe, my rose. Remember that you are brilliant,           and remember that your determination inspires me. I love you, Sahar.

And with the letter, wrapped tightly so as not to have it tangle or become loose, was a small, golden bracelet with two heart-shaped jewels in their respective birthstone colors. If she couldn’t hold him close, then this would allow her to have a piece of his heart to take with her always.

[ I would love that? Like lots of people do manga coloring to make characters fit their identity/ headcanons (which is cool and all) but it would be so nice to get a canon poc character. Especially on the main crew because that means she’s going to last. 

Also yes! Camilla’s main title is cabin girl but her botany side shows her in a more educated light but also a softer one. It’s definitely her more likable side, shows how caring she is based on how she treats her plants. Lots of fanart of her gardening/ with flower crowns. ]
