To the few people out here that I know have read the Villains and Virtues series,

if you have not already read the Xander spinoff Bound and Tide please for the love of God do it! Read it! I don't want to give too much away but I will say there is something just heart meltingly sweet about seeing Xander go from " I'm gonna kidnap a literal baby and keep it hostage so I can corrupt it" to "what kind of coward hurts a child"

I admittedly did not read Bound to Fall (I think that's what it's called) because that character was only ever a brief mention in the og trilogy so I just didn't really care but I did order it now so I can read it because I just love this world and this author. The Author did say that it should be read before Bound and Tide even though it is set after Bound and Tide but oh well. I've made my choices lol.

So like I’m slow but started listening to bound to tide in the villains and virtues series and the first chapter is just Xander bitching. It’s delightful, it’s so on brand.

Other characters in the series can be bitchy, but Xander is the supreme bitch and I say that with nothing but love and adoration.

More Astarion as Xander? Well, if you insist!

This happened the morning after the bite scene, maybe because I didn't have many companions, but in-game, I like to think that Xander just could not wait.

And a very apt quote from the book:

Xander’s fingers flexed, hands lifting, but stopped just short of the curve of her hips. Dark gods, he wanted to sink his claws into her flesh and make her scream but…but what?

Hesitation was barely a word Xander knew before coming to this gods-forsaken town, and his interest never lasted so long in someone who didn’t give him something back. But then Red was giving him something—that same look he’d gotten over the hunter’s body. The one that saw.

“You want to fuck me, don’t you?”

His tongue went thick, his stomach knotted, and the breath went all out of him, so that he could only manage a meager, “Yes, please.”

Please? From what pathetic corner of the deepest Abyss had that come?

“Clean the floors, and I’ll think about it.”

Can you imagine if Tav had said that to Astarion on top of getting him to say "please"?! Regardless, it worked.

Yeah I found Arideyya's higanbana for Xander to use as camp clothes. Didn't even need to dye it red 😂. I think Evangeline is still mad he stole it, even if it did clash with her hair.
