The last person Xander had expected to see at the studio during rehearsal was Cormac Rutherford. Adorning the costume and makeup of Le Corsaire’s Ali, he encountered the other man off-stage after rehearsing his variation. “Cormac!” he exclaimed, surprised. “Long time no see. What brings you here? Doing more fashion research? Or did you just miss me? Don’t be shy. You can admit it.”

Xander loved cast parties after a ballet wrapped up. Since he was just a dancer in the corps, he wasn’t well known enough for anyone important to want to talk to him and so he could drink heavily at someone else’s expense. He ignored the food placed out and went straight for the glasses of champagne, taking his third glass of the night. Or was it his fourth? Didn’t matter too much either way. He took the glass and headed towards the perimeter of the hall the party was in, happy to blend into the wall for a moment. That was when he saw a well-dressed man he didn’t recognize. Very well-dressed. The cheap suit Xander sported only fitted due to his own ability with a needle and thread, not something he’d openly admit. Besides being well-dressed, the man was incredibly handsome. Maybe even pretty. “I don’t think I know you.
