New post bc I don’t want one super long one tbh

Todays work was sculpting and painting :D I didn’t plan on building up weathering/texture with apoxie but I had to cover the engraved title somehow and this was the only way to make it look natural. The cover still needs additional weathering and aging, and obviously the oht still needs to be painted (very excited to do that part), but I’m really liking the look so far!!

This took me. Idk like 6 straight hours. Fingies hurt. But it weighs so much less now so worth it!

Test page 2 progress! Decided if I’m going to be doing test pages anyway I would go really hard on the drafting. So if ur wondering about how the first drafts on these go its just. Its just so much math.

Also a fun little note is that I simplify down the characters to a single stroke for placement/sizing/ease of drafting, so thats what all the 1s and 0s are.

2nd page translation has been finished and cross referenced with the commentaries! Page 1 is also translated, once I figure out how the pieces go together I should be pretty close to done.

IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!! Like a third of these look like characters I recognize, half of them seem to be upside down, and some of them are just straight up not daedric characters as far as I can tell??? Or Martin’s handwriting is just atrocious I suppose that’s technically possible. Theres only like 20 characters and YET i sit here and struggle.

Anyway the reason I threw the actual ritual into my translation queue is that I’ve decided to just go balls to the wall and design my own pages of the xarxes instead of trying to reference the eso ones, so I need all the reference material I can get. The eso ones are….fine… but they just arent as punchy as the ones we see in oblivion and I don’t think they carry over the aesthetic well. And god damn it I’m an artist if I can’t design two convincing pages of an evil spooky book thats a skill issue lmao.

I did a poor job evenly cutting the pages while hollowing the back half of the book and now I am sufferiiiiing the consequences I keep having to glue individual pages together and then wait for it to dry and check again I just wanna sculpt oguh
