Xavier lay on the hard earth – bones aching, back complaining, muscles exhausted – trying to decide whether it was worth rising. There was a black mark staining his face, a singular line at the height of his cheek bones and across the bridge of his nose like a bear or a beast had slashed across his face with only one of its nails. Clearly, this was a purely magical feature – one that allowed everyone to see him for the killer he was – but the skin underneath hurt nonetheless, just like any regular scar.
A groan escaped his lips as he lifted himself up and finally allowed himself to open his eyes. Of course, he was greeted with the looks of the masses, some of them sketchy, some of them disgusted, some of them outright confused. Did he do it? How could he? A slave! Xavier had an easy time reading their minds. Squares. This would take some time to get used to. He hadn’t been filled in on the details, but he was certain that the administration made sure the entire school knew about his deed. Killing a Mistress. He only found out after his punishment.
“Fucking what!?”, he then barked out eventually when his audience grew bolder. With the mark on his face, he knew he couldn’t be shy any longer. There was no blending in and forgetting for him. The guards made damn sure of that.
It couldn’t be fucking true.. Doing what he did for a living, Ciaran heard a lot of shit. Most of it was just bloody idle gossip from meddling mouths, but sometimes an actual truth made it in there. And the sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach made him feel this may be one of those times. After all, what would anyone have to gain from lying about a punishment? Pretty daft thing to do, when it could so easily be proven right or wrong. So the moment he heard about Xavier, the wolf excused himself from the pub, hoping on his bike and hoping for the best as he sped towards campus.
The gathering crowds were the first thing that he saw, all but confirming the rumor. Bright eyes darkened as he whipped off his helmet and purposefully strode forward, not being careful in the least about who he knocked into (or over) on his way to the male. “No, I think ya should be gettin’ the fuck outta my way. Goddamn buzzards..” Ciaran muttered, finally making his way to Xavier’s side. “Fuckin’ hell..”
Sighing and pinching the bridge of his nose, he shucked off his flannel and gently placed it over the other male. “C’mon..takin’ ya to my place” He informed him, in a tone that left no room for argument.
