Keralis and xB are ridiculously in love. They’re one of those sappy couples always fawning over each other and being sweet (in their own odd way), so literally everyone knows they’re together.

Literally no one, however, can figure out how Xisuma fits into it. He’s cuddly with them both. He’ll join their dates seemingly content to not participate in any of the coupley stuff. A few hermits swear he’s stayed nights at Keralis or xB’s base.

But if you ask, X will just say they’re his best friends, and the other two will back him up on it.

[A.k.a. romantic xBralis + aro Xisuma (I see him as aro/allo but up to interpretation) as their QPR partner. They’re all very happy with this arrangement and rather delight in confusing the hermits.]

They can tell Xisuma delights in making minigames knowing xB and Keralis will enjoy playing them. He lights up when he sees the pair and they accept him into the fold without hesitation.

It's everything X could want in a relationship: a deep and steady friendship.

Joel has odd ways of trying to make his crushes feel special.

Joel actually listening to Etho when he asks Joel to do things. (DL when asked to build a base, he complains but does)

Joel not killing Bdubs' horses specifically. (Dude that's his thing and he made an exception)

Joel obsessively trying to kill XB. (Like, obsessed much?)

Joel, can you pretty please just be normal?

He's able to be stubborn in all things, and that includes romance. It might be bare minimum for most people, but for Joel these are big deals. It's like he's putting up a flashing sign saying 'look I care about you!'

It might take the three of them to make a 'Joel support club' to put together that this is flirting and not. Well. Something.

Keralis brings Beef and xB into the void.

Beef has a space suit adjacent thing on, xB has the same thing but there's water in the helmet.

They can never stay long in the void, always either Beef running out of oxygen or xB's water lacking oxygen, but Keralis loves spending what time they have together in the void.

(Bonus: xB tried to take Keralis and Beef into the ocean, but Beef can't stand the feeling of the pressure, and Keralis dissociates a lot. They stopped going underwater after a while.)

They try to make up for it by bringing the 'ocean' home for xB. A large aquarium (very well cared for, they did their research), the interlaced curling lights waving across the ceiling, the powerful quietness.

It isn't the ocean, but it means the world to xB. Kinda makes Beef jealous he doesn't have a fun place to show off (Keralis and xB would both argue the farm is super cool and they love it.)

Hypno will get into this routine where he will work for hours on end and completely lose track of time. It takes a worried xB to come and snap his husband out of this work trace, make him some good food and put him to bed this stubborn man to take a damn rest!

But xB loves every second he gets to snuggle with Hypno. (and every excuse too)

Hypno also has his own guilty secret, he does it sometimes just so he gets to enjoy that caring side of xB. It's not often he gets to be doted on!

A fairytale between fisherman Hypno and guardian xB 🤭

Catching oversized pains in his ass was not part of Hypno's job. Most people would be overjoyed to catch such a marvel!

Until they catch him a second time. And then a third. And then about once a day. How about multiple times a day?

Hypno is pretty sure he's been cursed. And that curse too xB and his stupid, lovely giggle as Hypno pulls him out the water again.

The creatures of the sea won't drag you in, no. They'll purposefully catch themselves on your hook until you want to jump in the water yourself. And look cute whilst doing it.

Imagine xB and Hypno go home to a family dinner and they have decided to finally tell their families that actually they're married. They've been married for 3 years, actually ever since they have come to these family gatherings.

And one of their family members, probably Hypno's side, are like "yeah, we knew you were gay. We were just betting on who it was and when you'd tell us"

On the bright side, at least they weren't making specific bets on who (like the hermits did...)

Only because they didn't know all the hermits. They had to improvise there.

Keralis met XB after almost drowning. The guardian hybrid saw him flailing wildly from the sea floor and rescued him mere seconds before he died. When Keralis woke up and saw the gorgeous, muscular, slick-with-water man of his dreams standing over him after giving him cpr, he fell head over heels at once. All of his fairytale romance dreams came true! When he's not calling XB his princess, he calls him his knight in shining armor, fawning over the day XB rescued his life and his heart.

And then there's Wels, the ACTUAL knight in shining armor, whose usual partners call him various nicknames along the lines of "cringefail" and "blockhead". Gee, Jev, thanks a lot. Really boosts self esteem.

I guess some people have different ways of showing their love.

Wels has been called those sappy nicknames more times than Keralis than his own partner! But he likes it that way.

If Jevin started calling him things like that, Wels would worry he was ill. Or he'd been replaced. How is Wels supposed to banter without his Jevin?!
