He was sweet on any given day. The hesitance to touch her was something she wouldn’t hold against him, or anyone—a corpse was far from desirable to the touch, and a man with a heart like his deserved a life devoted to his.
So the admission only catches her off-guard for a moment, sweet as he normally is, before the reminders of his inebriation settle in. “Yer drunk,” she chides with a chuckle, examining the gloves on her hand idly. “Ye donnae ken what ye say.”
Loose lips sink ships his mother used to say, but what of loose tongues? What happened then? He didn’t know. He didn’t care. Not when he caught sight of the vampire who’d slowly invaded more and more of his thoughts.
Without thinking things through, he acted on impulse, snatching a small glove clad hand in his and lifting it to his lips before she could pull away.
Stupid. This was stupid. A part of his brain was screaming at him to stop, to let her go. She didn’t want this. She made it clear she didn’t want to be touched. Didn’t want him to touch her. What was he doing? Why was he doing this? He couldn’t force his affections on her, especially not like this.
Stopstopstopstopstop.
The word repeated itself over and over again, bleeding together, yet still he couldn’t bring himself to do what was right. Couldn’t bring himself to drop her hand---so small in his own, cold even through the glove---and step away. Instead, he locked eyes with her, watched her through his half-lidded gaze as he bent his head and brushed his lips against her fingertips, the kiss featherlight.
Slowly, he lowered their hands, loosening his hold on her in case she wanted to pull away.
“I do,” he whispered.

SEND ME A FANDOM AND I’LL TELL YOU A CHARACTER I’D ROLEPLAY FROM THAT FANDOM.@xbitesback
MARA JADE. My queen, my former Hand, my former smuggler. So full of anger in the beginning. So desperate to just find a new place for herself. So willing to tell Luke he done fucked up. I just… I love Mara. So much.
Leia would actually also be tied for first choice if I thought I could do her justice. Not to insult Mara’s character, but Leia is just a whole ‘nother thing entirely. You have the movies, you have old EU, you have the new EU that I am so out of the loop on. And I just…. have no idea how to write a leader and a general and a politician. Like, Leia is sitting on this pedestal of “I will never be qualified to write you”.

“You know, one time I beat a whole bunch of cowgirls in barrel racing on my friend’s mule. It was great. We started out getting laughed at and left them all in the dust. There’s nothing so satisfying as watching those bedazzled fucks frown.”
xbitesback replied to your post: “Did you just touch my thigh?”
“‘Twas yer hand that moved last, therefore s'yer hand that’s touching my thigh!”
“it’s not anymore because you moved your thigh, which means your thigh was touching me not me touching your thigh. get your story straight, you numpty.”
one time i texted something funny to my friend in front of my boss, and my boss demanded to see it because he wanted in on the joke, so i was like "if you really wanna see it, here it is." and showed him the text. it just read "'forgive me father for i have sinned' and 'spank me daddy i've been bad' mean roughly the same thing." uwu
lucifer and i are both very proud of this moment in time ;~;

The protective tone caught her off-guard for a moment, and she faltered. “It was… I-it was no one.” She shook her head, wiping at her lip. “Does’nae matter now. They’re gone.”
He fixated on the blood that stained her lip, split from whatever it was the person did to her. The way it’d stood stark against the paleness of her skin, he found it hard to look away, and his anger slowly rose the longer he stared.
Lucas reached out, hand hovering mere inches from her, before he caught himself, before her words registered and gave him pause. Fingertips lingering a mere inch from her skin, he met Raff’s eyes and furrowed his brows, dropping his hand to his side to keep from doing anything stupid or unwanted.
“It does matter, Raff.”
His words were soft. Barely above a whisper, really, but with their close proximity, he had no doubt she’d have heard him even if she were human.
