PS4 and Xbox One won't transfer saved games when upgraded
Been away from the computer the last couple of days.....mainly playing GTA 5 ! But I am still trying to get you the latest updates on the new consoles. Cos I'm good like that !
In another article, I wrote about upgrading to from current gen games to next gen and the good and bad if you choose to do the step up.
Well another bit of news which hasn't really been mentioned and kinda swept under the rug, has arisen.
Back at E3 in June, when the next generation of console to begin the next 10 year battle, was announced. With this announcement, developers and publishers want to keep everybody happy and are releasing games for both current gen and next gen with the good news of all trophies, awards, level ups, etc will be at exactly the place you left off if you switch over to the PS4 or Xbox One.
But, we just heard that all single player saved games and everything related to, will be lost.
For me, this was kind of expected, due to the fact that server maintained information can be no itored and updated ,but if the current console games arn't compattable with new consoles, then I doubt saved data would be.
But the fact that we didn't hear until now is kinda rubbish. People may have been mislead into the thought of a straight 100% transition and bought the PS3 and Xbox 360 ready to upgrade when their new console.
This news may make people hold off on pre ordering the games they wanted and wait till for new console version.
Think about how annoyed you get when starting a campain or a co-op game and the progress has been lost.
At least this will be a known loss progress. Unlike old school corrupt data ;).
Look on the brightside. If it will give you a good comparison
Does this annoy you ? Does this make you want to hold off on buying current gen before the next gen version? Please let me know in the comment box ! Follow me on Twitter to get lots more news and updates !
