After a very long hiatus, I'm back with pages from an Xbox magazine from July 2003 that I actually own!
Half Life 2 was released on PC on November 16th 2004. Exactly one year later (almost), it was released on Xbox 360. Some of the first looks of HL2 were surfaced July 2003 in gaming magazines such as the official Xbox magazine.
The first screenshot we're shown isn't in the final game. It shows Alyx in here green jacket from the beta, and also has a combine Soldier being impaled by a hydra, a scrapped enemy found in sewer levels that would impale and drag it's victim.
The second image seems to be an unfinished version of the Antilion portion of the game. The only abnormalities are the seemingly careless combine (very close to the player and not attacking) and the orange, textureless walls.
HL2, before even releasing, was also voted the perfect exclusive to be ported to Xbox (alongside re.5, which is another one of my favorite games)
Out of this poll, Wind Waker and Resident Evil did not make it to Xbox 360 (obviously..) BUT re1 did eventually make it to Xbox One.
I'm glad Alyx has no longer been reduced to just a "babe" anymore. Curse you 2003 gamers.
