Black Ops 3, why you do this??? #xboxoneproblems
Overkill?
At first there was a token feeling that perhaps it would be overkill to use Chromecast to Rdio by plugging it into Xbox One.
After getting it, Google Now prompts these articles about Chromecast. Most are chaff but sometimes there's something interesting like Rdio app. Hell any app being added helps because there are so few.
There are also very few apps and games for Xbox One.
When I plugged the Chromecast gently into the rear of the Xbox I had to lol because it had turned itself on. beeping softly twice.. sounded like ecstasy to me.. so whatever floats your boat Xbox.
Problems were few, starting with Xbox live not working.. but I mean that requires an Ethernet connection so oops. XD
After that Xbox Live still didn't work.. no explanation.
Soft rebooted it and it decided it Would speak to the internet now.
Couldn't for the life of me remember how to start live TV though.
So was like ok.. haven't turned this thing on in a week lemme load up the only game I have and see if there's any updates. Nope.
Forza server is not available. FYT then Forza.
What fun. Playing on someone else's schedule because of course you'd bring your server down mid-Monday afternoon.
Makes it easier to justify this casting test and ultimately Xbox One ridiculous lack of functionality because it is an internet based appliance that doesn't have any apps OR games.
But Rdio also failed to cast on the first go. Turns out I just had to pause playback on Nexus 7 then try again. The app itself is sluggish, but that's fine, turning the TV off resolves that issue.
It casted fine for the first few songs, playing through 5.1. Oops. Should have set it to 5.1 stereo.
But it is now either buffering or having some kind of fit. Sigh.
At least it works. In theory.
