i think about this like once a day but i wish they made chewlery (food grade silicone threaded on necklaces for chewing) in the shape of a mjolnir. first of all thats cool as fuck second of all i would love to have a stim toy that’s related to my faith.
When DVD came along, in the late 90s, I could only watch them on the computer, since a player for the TV was horribly expensive. Later on, there were downloading movies, which had to be watched on the computer, because the dvd player for my TV couldn't play those files. The Netflix came, and I had to watch it on the computer, because didn't have a smart TV or Chromecast yet.
Now I have kinda started watching movies on computer again, instead of TV, and it kinda makes me enjoy movies alot more than I have in years.
Hello kinda people of Tumblr! I need help with something anti-enshittification related. 👋
I often enjoy watching YouTube through the Chromecast for the bedroom TV and the Nintendo Switch for the (analogue) living room TV. When watching through a computer I can use an Adblock with good results, but not through the TVs.
The Chromecast and Switch app, albeit finicky, are convenient ways to watch YouTube on TV which is my main source of entertainment, but the ads are beyond insufferable. Anyone exposed to them will probably understand that they are less there to actually advertise and more to annoy and bully the user into buying premium.
Premium comes across as a scam to me, so even if I could easily afford it wouldn’t get it, mainly out of principle. Doesn’t even always clear the ads even though it’s the one thing it’s there for.
So I ask, is there a good alternative to bypass the ads? I would love it if there could be a third party casting device with a built in adblock but I don’t know how feasible those would be to make. A reliable way to modify what I currently have is also an option if it doesn’t require too much technical knowledge.
Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated! The more YouTube pushes their ads on me the greater lengths I’ll go to in order to keep my sanity.

Wait no, what's happening is that for some reason Ultraman Blazar is defaulting to the original Japanese; don't know if it's this device or something on my account but that's where we are now; I'll have to check the other Chromecast tomorrow when my parents aren't using it
dude... why the hell can't you hide certain Google products in your home app so they don't give you the option to cast to them?
like. We share our wifi with our new downstairs neighbors but they have like 5 separate google devices and every time they start casting, "shared controls" come up on my phone. every time I start casting, all of their devices come up as an option.
I've been googling since last night and it seems they would have to change something in their settings to prevent the popup, and I'm not sure if there's any way to remove their devices as an option when we cast.
i'm fucking terrified of accidentally casting to one of their TVs and I would love to just. hide them. ??? Google has billions of dollars why is this not a thing they have implemented.
what if parents buy each of their kids a speaker and then one of them gets mad at the other and keeps hijacking their speaker by playing, idk, Justin Beiber or something to piss them off? People have been making posts about this since like 2016.
