DREAMS 

When she was younger her dreams were vivid and memorable, often dreams where she had to get married to some man far older than her. But she also had dreams about being kidnapped or abducted for nefarious purposes. Her mother was a very paranoid woman, and that infected Ness’ perception of the world when she was a child.  After crash landing, however, her dreams changed. Since there was no one on the planet to harm her, the threat of abduction was no longer on her mind. Instead she’d have dreams of drowning/suffocating/sinking into the mires. Whether it’s just her or the ship she’s in, she was very scared of sinking below the surface of the murky waters that surrounded her.  This fear was elevated after the death of her caretaker. Ness is extremely claustrophobic, and most of her dreams play to that. She’s also scared of the dark and would sometimes have dreams about the night sky falling down over her, like a thick fog and choking her. Usually on those nights she’d wake up to find that she had tangled herself in her sheets, and her blankets were covering her face; causing the sensation. None of her dreams were ever prophetic, even though most of them seemed that way, but truthfully her dreams were not tampered by the force.

Kylo Ren. Rose had heard more than one story about the General's soon turned First Order member. training had been something jessika was used to from a young age. be it with an airspeeder she intended to race on a nowhere planet in a half-forgotten life or as a young and excelling cadet of one of the first order’s academies. hand-to-hand combat, piloting, the list of extensive studies and regiments was expansive. but this? it was something else entirely. she was not one of his knights, not a person attuned with the ancient force he was able to see. hell, if she was honest, jessika was pretty sure she was one of the only officers that didn’t shy away from him in a setting such as this. his moods, she had discovered, could be unpredictable. 

it had been he who had made the suggestion to further her previous training with a more advanced discipline of his creation. it was logical given the theme of many of their missions for snoke. despite her being first and foremost the leader of his elite flight squadron, she also, at times, found herself on the ground with him on more delicate missions which simply required his presence and a pilot. her ability to defend and use offensive measures would only serve to better allow her to complete her assigned purpose. 

it is for these reasons that jessika finds herself hitting a mat, hard, before switching tactics on a spur of the moment and using her leg to kick up at his head and twist out of his grip, making a move to kick at his lower leg to throw his balance.
