Clara & Xeno
Send me a pairing for my character and I’ll tell you…
Who made the first move: Clara. Even with the conversation that lead to their relationship confusing and awkward at best, she refuses to let go the fact she technically admitted her feelings first, insistent that this counts.
Who steals the covers: Clara. Prone to curling up, she tends to take them with her — not to wrap up in, she just pulls them towards her and refuses to let go.
Who sings in the shower: Clara. Her terrible singing not something she shares with others, the first time Xeno mentions it (no matter how innocently) would lead to some petty remark of how he’s jealous it’s Sid Vicious she’s thinking of in the shower and a lengthy sulk.
Their favourite non-sexual activity: Debating. When their viewpoints and opinions are usually completely different, they’ve managed to fill over a year’s worth of evenings together simply pointing out the flaws in each other’s arguments.
Who plans the dates: Xeno. While they don’t generally go out on them, if it came up Clara would push all the responsibility onto him, if only so she can pretend to not care about that sort of thing.
Who wakes up first: Clara. Even when she hasn’t got to be in work, she’s never shaken the habit of getting up early for ballet practice. While usually too impatient to not wake the other person, she’s surprisingly considerate about letting Xeno sleep in, especially when he’s been up late with the Quibbler.
Who gets more jealous: Clara. She may be better with Xeno than she is with others, trusting him more than most, but she’s still no where near as laid back as he is, something that tends to annoy her more than the jealousy itself. .
The dumbest thing they fight over: The frequency to which Xeno is right. It swings between ‘always, so he should stop rubbing it in’ and ‘never, so he should stop questioning her logic’.
Who kills the bugs: Neither. It usually works out that whoever is in the best position to catch it does so, while the other opens a window for it to be let back outside.
Who cooks dinner: Neither. For the safety of everyone involved, takeaways are the best option.
Who is more dominate: Clara. Come on. (x)
What gifts they’d get each other: Xeno is easily a better gift giver than Clara, likely try to pick something that he feels she’d find interesting, or that he knows she already has an interest in. Whilst Clara, on the other hand, will try to find ways to still choose the things she wants, like alcohol for him to drink with her or underwear for her to have on when she offers up sex — both of which she believes count as valid gifts, refusing to be told otherwise.
Who forgets birthdays and anniversaries: Xeno. As good as he is with anything Quibbler related, other dates aren’t kept on top of nearly as well, not that Clara reminds him. She prefers to act like it doesn’t matter, both for his sake and her ego’s.
Who apologises after a fight: Xeno. While who is actually in the wrong will affect this, as a general rule, Clara is considerably more stubborn. The only exception would be if it was particularly big fight, especially one that resembled her parents’. While they’ve never had an argument like that, it would panic her into putting pride to one side.
Who is the the big spoon/little spoon: Both. Neither have a set preference, so it varies from night to night.
A headcanon: Bordering on being a germaphobe, Clara is extremely unsympathetic when a friend is sick, especially if it’s anything contagious like a stomach bug or the flu. For Xeno, however, she’d be willing to try to make him soup (Merlin help him), bring him extra blankets and generally stick around to make sure he’s okay, all with only mild complaining.
