Still We Spin | Everleigh & Xeno
The bright winter sunlight streamed into Everleigh's face as she woke to her mother peeking her head into her room, telling her she would be late if she didn't get out of bed. "Alright, mum, I'm coming." She mumbled as she smiled and closed her eyes again, her mother's words not registering in her head. Her eyes flew open suddenly as she remembered Xenophilius' owl and she sat up quickly in excitement. She threw her covers off of her, piling them into a heap at the foot of her bed and jumped to the floor before opening her window and running to her trunk, taking out a pair of jeans and sneakers. She bounced into both, wrapped a headband around her wrist for later use and pulled two long sweaters from her closet, making as much noise as possible as she layered them, knowing that her mother wouldn't come back upstairs as long as she knew Everleigh was awake.
She didn't know exactly what the day would hold but she couldn't wait for it. She sat in her windowsill and lit a fag, taking a moment to enjoy the morning. It had been quite awhile since she'd spent time with Xenophilius. It had been him, in her second year, that had told her about the creatures she had grown to love so dearly and she'd never doubted him for an instant. She appreciated the fact that her friends accepted her for being herself, but she knew they didn't share her beliefs and though she never changed herself for anyone, it was almost a feeling of freedom to spend time with someone who did. She threw the fag out the window behind the bushesand bounded down the stairs, throwing up two fingers in greeting before kissing both of her parents on the cheek and taking a piece of toast. The three Sowers made small talk as they made their way outdoors and sat on their front steps to wait.
