MURALS IN THE MARKET
by Duncan Jago and Xenz
Crediting his love of nature as his biggest influence, Duncan Jago, aka Mr. Jago, has seen his style evolve toward the abstract and Futurism2-0.com says the droid-like figures of his formative years now “remain as shadowy, compositional elements, specters lurking in the gloom behind the kaleidoscopic vapors of (what might perhaps be) humankind’s vanity and pollution.” A long-time graffiti artist Graeme Brusby, aka Xenz, has also seen dramatic changes in his work and now creates landscapes drawn from his imagination. The two British artists teamed up at Orleans and Division Streets in Detroit for this large addition to the 2016 edition of the @1xRun curated @MuralsintheMarket and Xens told @DetroitNews he “compared their style of working to jazz music, ‘We’re making it up as we go.’” @mr_jago/ @xenzogram/
