hii allie!! i was xfactor anon from earlier and you answered it beautifully, and i was just wondering since they hugged at their last concert was it a bigger deal if they hugged at the xfactor? or was it solely because swim on was there as they awkwardly looked at each other and then were like “nah” hahah i’m just wondering what do you think were the reasons behind it

I feel like in the last concert they weren't ready for it at all, it took them by surprise. And it was a huge deal because until that point the narrative being sold was that they were basically enemies, they weren't openly interacting. And then for the x-factor final they were expecting it to come, so they probably just planned in not doing it. I think it was their choice, like I think that the limited interaction on stage for years was partially their choice too. And I think that choosing not to act "normally" in front of Simon Cowell it's very telling. Because it really shows how their behaviour is not normal, they do act weird and uncomfortably around each other, and there was a lot more about that hiatus than what they made it look like at first. Plus their aggressive behaviour that day and how they were rolling their eyes (literally) to Simon... all four of them. Please, there was a lot happening behind the scenes.
