“look who it is...” it was nearly pleasing to see the scavenger again, after the time that had passed –– almost instantly upon their dark gaze being set on her, she felt that violent spark inside of her set off again, reminding her of everything that had happened here. the grin that curled onto their lips was purely sinister. “rey. shouldn’t you be burying yourself in some outdated text in a hardly hidden jedi temple?” no, they didn’t know where it was, but that didn’t really matter.

melyn looked down, turning the holocron in her hands over, admiring the craftmanship that had gone into it. it was a deceptively beautiful little thing, unassuming to most, but the strong dark side aura surrounding it gave it away to those in tune with the force. much like melyn herself, it was leftover from a bygone era and held within it powerful secrets. she slipped it into her robes and turned to make her way back to civilisation, and ideally to find a better hiding spot for this particular piece of forbidden knowledge.

she blinked as she turned, the tip of her lekku twitching in surprise. she had been so focused on the holocron she had entirely missed the other’s presence, only noticing her now that she was stood right in front of her.

“i would hazard a guess that we are here for the same prize,” she spoke after a moment, an apologetic smile on her face. “i apologise. i can’t, in good conscience, hand over the holocron.”

That was a question, wasn’t it? Bastila would be lying to say that she hadn’t wondered herself. She had heard of Alderaan, mass destruction that somehow seemed more terrifying than Telos and Taris. More than bombardments. With weapons like that, how could anyone stand against them and hope to win?

“Remember that we have power, too. Perhaps not Death Stars or weapons of mass destruction, but the Force is with us. If we put our faith into it, incredible things can be achieved - feats that many would consider to be impossible. With the Force as our ally, we cannot lose.”

Bastila didn’t know if she believed that, but she spoke with conviction anyway, hoping that her words could provide some form of comfort.

     Calloused pads of fingers slide easily over the helmet held in his hands. Dark gaze narrows upon it's smooth surface. It's silver lines of metal. This helmet had been such a part of him. A way to mask who he was underneath. To hide the person he had once killed years ago. Ben Solo was nothing more than a weak Jedi who caved to a power that he had not yet become. A power that had not yet awakened inside of him. A mask that led him to the death, no, the murder of his father. The death of his Uncle. It had walked Ben into who he was meant to become, to Kylo Ren and his knights. A breath and he doesn't stop the ghost of a smirk that trails over the corners of his worn lips. The tilt upward of his head. Rey has always been so easy for him to sense. So easy for him to know when she's around. Their bond is impeccable. Something so unexplainable that no matter the questions asked, the Force refuses to answer. She is a part of him, as much as he is a part of her and no matter how he tries to sever their tie, nothing seems to break this bond that they share. "If it isn't the lost girl form a planet she cna't even call home anymore." He speaks lightly. His tone is gruff as his mind's eye makes him remember her turning down his offered hand. He wanted nothing more than for her to accept it. For someone to accept it. "Have you come to try to lure me back to the light or have you finally given in to the darkness in your heart?"
