new year drabbles 5/?
featuring @lhunuial's Domi and my Var'lin
Not sure if at this point Var'lin has already delved deeper into his dark side studies, but let's just assume his intention aren't as pure as Domi's (hey, how do you do, fellow jedi archeologist? I am totally NOT here to search for hidden Sith artifacts! nice to meet you!)

The narrow hallway lead into another room with an altar and overgrown temple walls, adorned with more ancient writings and paintings depicting the history of these ruins. Domi was so excited by her breakthrough that she followed the carvings without even looking at her surroundings. This was the piece of the puzzle she had been looking for since she arrived on the jungle moon.
Her fingers trailed along the carved letters as she translated the text, following the revelations of the ancient Jedi down the temple stairs and through yet another hallway, loosing track of time as she worked. She didn't notice the sound of footsteps not her own, not even the force as it whispered to her of the other presence in these ruins.
The next room was partially caved in, and she had to duck under the vines hanging from the roof to get to the next section. There was something on the ground! A piece of a crystal or...
Domi almost collided with someone who was also reaching for the glowing object on the ground. Shocked, she gasped and stumbled back, instinctively reaching for her lightsaber. Before she could ignite it, her senses had already told her that there was no need to defend herself.
The other Jedi seemed to have a similar thought process, since he lowered his saberstaff and exhaled deeply. “By the stars!” He shook his head in disbelief. “You scared the living force out of me.”
The situation was so absurd that Domi had to laugh, and the Jedi made a noise that was part snort and part chuckle. He was about her age, handsome, a few cybernetics on his temple glowing in the dim light.
Apologizing profusely, Domi was just about to ask him what another Jedi was doing here, when he bent down to retrieve the glowing object from the rubble.
They both stared at the holocron. It's soft blue glow had turned red in his hands.
