Adorable food goddess (Mengqi Shishen)
Ok, yall. So I wanted to talk about this awesome light novel/anime, adorable food goddess/Mengqi Shishen. I’ll talk about the anime and the light novel separately. I'm just going to say first off this story is truly amazing and I have not been able to stop reading it since I started.
The Characters
The main characters in this series are Ye Jinxuan (also goes by Yaoyao) and Xia Chunyu. These two play off each other well which is what brings a sort of comedic relief to the story. There was a post saying that Chunyu is kind of a douche bag but so is Ye Jinxuan in her own way. She definitely doesn't take his shit and that exactly what draws her to him.
The Novel
Now the novel definitely goes more in-depth when it comes to storytelling. Trigger warning, there is mention of rape in the first few chapters of the novel. They do have intercourse again throughout the other chapters, but I’m not exactly sure if it's actually consensual or not because she is technically kidnapped and forced to marry Chunyu. Just to put that out there.
In the novel, there is a struggle with the concept of Love that is new to both of them honestly. In a time where arranged marriages were required and you do not get to choose who you marry.
To add to that there is a chapter where Chunyu and Yaoyao make ice cream and stargaze and I just really enjoyed this chapter. It was a time that they spent together where they really got to know each other with light flirting. If this could be made into an OVA, I'd be happy with it lol.
The Anime
Now the anime is definitely more fluffy in a way at least when compared to the actual novel. The anime obviously excludes what happens to them in the first few chapters and relies on the first impression of each other and their emotional relationship. They follow the novel a little loosely, so not everything in the anime matches the novel. I actually watched the anime first then read the novel. I figured I could start from where they left off in the anime, but I found that I missed a lot from the 1st arc of her being kidnapped. So i actually read from chapter 40 to chapter 80, but after reading some comments I realized that I should go back to the beginning.
The anime definitely shows how they are as a couple and how he cares for her. but it skips over the trails that they have to go through to be truly together.
Plus the food animation looks so good. I could do without the transformation when she untied her hair just to retie it into the same exact hairstyle. Other than that it was enjoyable.
I Defintely reccomend this!

Now, I don’t know who’s in charge of putting fandoms into categories for FanFictions sake, BUT I would REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY LIKE ONE ON THE CHINESE DRAMA TITLED “CINDERELLA CHEF”
It is SUCH a good drama and I am really sad and even mind boggled that there is no and I mean ABSOLUTELY NONE WHAT SO EVER FanFictions in it. Not a single fluff, smut, lemon, or even crack FanFiction has grace my eyes.
Some PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make one, and people make some more.

I really couldn't wait for Adorable Food Goddess to get a 2nd season so I just read the novel and I was like, yoo there's 154 chapters translated, I won't make it that far since I don't always have a lot of time to read anyways,,, but guess who finally reached the last translation...!!!
No one knows what happened to the translator!! they just stopped updating like 4 months ago.... Like, is it dropped? Or are they just on a break?
If anyone knows, please do tell. I just wanna know if I should keep checking regularly or just give up ;_;
