Mortefi woke up to the smell of medications. Trying to get up immediately resulted in him getting pushed back down, the familiar touch turning his attention to the warmth in his body.

As his vision became clearer he saw his colleague, Xiangli Yao. "You know better than to get up this soon." he said, which was met with a grunt. Mortefi slapped the other man's hand away. Touching his chest, he immediately noticed how his scales have spread, how his tacet mark seemed to have become more chaotic in shape. "…what happened?" he asked as he tried to remember.

"You've overclocked." said Xiangli, to which Mortefi needed a moment to gather his thoughts before concern made it's way onto his face. But before he could start panicking, Xiangli answered the most important question. "No need to worry. No one was injured."

As Mortefi sighed in relief before feeling something being placed on his lap. "I grabbed you something to eat on my way. I… had to reheat it since you woke up later than anticipated. I hope it didn't lose it's flavour." Xiangli said, to which on eyebrow was raised at him. "How long have you been waiting?"

There was a slight hesitation before he received an answer. "Well ever since you were brought here." This made Mortefi even more confused. "Don't you have projects to take care of? And as far as I know, you aren't exactly proficient in medicine."

"You could say I had my reasons." The answer made Mortefi look at his friend in suspicion. He wasn't one to give out vague answers often. But he decided not to push and simply enjoy his food while it was still warm. Extra crispy, Xiangli knew his tastes well, it seems.

A quiet laugh came out from Xiangli. "Well it was worth it anyway, otherwise I wouldn't get to see your tail." This made Mortefi almost choke on his food as he looked down to see his tail hanging off the hospital bed, he quickly tucked it back in under the blanket.

"Now, now no need to be embarrased. I think it looks quite nice." As he said it a smile appeared on his face. That damned smile that would always appear during their friendly banters. "I don't see a reason to hide it." "It gets in my way during work. It's no big deal."

He continued his overdue meal as Xiangli laughed quietly, it was visible that he wanted to ask a question and was trying to hold back on it. "Just say it, you know I don't like it when you hesitate."

Xiangli cleared his throat under his companion's attentive gaze. "Can I touch it?" It was now Mortefi's turn to become silent, as he simply nodded and put his tail over Xiangli's lap. He continued to eat his meal as Xiangli slowly started stroking his tail. Relaxation set in as he enjoyed the other's touch.

"Oh…" Xiangli smirked slightly as he looked over at the monitor next to the bed. "Your heart rate has picked up."

What if XiangLEE sees Mortefi kissing Yao on the cheek and it tries to do the same by just lightly hitting it's face on his cheek

Giving them slight nudges to get closer to eachother, telling them the other wanted to meet them when it was actually their scheme to get them to spend time all along, etc
