XPeng / XiaoPeng Innovation
Over the past few years we have been trying to get more information about electric vehicles and how they work. There is no lie that there has been some very interesting technology, introduced into vehicles over the past few years. This technology spans into areas such as autonomous driving and flying cars. All ideas that were quite futuristic in concept only a few years ago.
On top of the futuristic aspects of these vehicles. They do allow you to be more efficient and save money on travel costs. Something almost any driver would be interested in. As matter of fact. In many cases these vehicles can also travel faster than their internal combustion engine counterparts. Which kind of makes switching to an EV a little bit more enticing.
A particular manufacturer that has definitely caught our eye is XPeng (Xiaopeng). It started with their P7 luxury compact 4-door sedan. It is a battery electric vehicle that supports L3 level automatic driving. It has three battery options which can allow for a range of up to 706 km (NEDC).
One of the more interesting features of the XPeng P7 is its XPILOT 3.0 system which allows for autonomous driving. It's very similar to Tesla's autopilot as Xiaopeng does reference Tesla's open source patents. Witnessing these vehicles operate in this fashion is quite impressive. Although not quite as impressive as the XPeng HT Aero.
The XPeng HT Aero is essentially a flying car. It is recognized as an eVTOL, which stands for: electric vehicle take-off and landing. HT Aero announced the development in late October of 2021. So unfortunately you won't be flying one of these anytime soon. However the concept looks great and we can't wait to test drive one for ourselves.
