I have to say that I was super happy when I got this request because I myself am a poly man so I love writing this stuff and I always like to think it up whenever I get the chance. Thank you again for your request and please feel free to give me any more ideas you think up!
You joined the Organization shortly after Demyx and were quick to be deemed unnecessary for the heavy jobs and main work, thus making you an expendable member given all the gross and crappy jobs.
Although you had been introduced to all of the members when you joined, you had never truly met any of them outside of Demyx who was also ‘benched’. He had been very friendly when you first conversed and to be honest, it threw you off a bit. He was so bright and lively and everyone else was dull and grey.
It was quickly decided between the two of you that you would be spending a lot more time together- and I mean a lot.
You began to sleep in Demyx’s room, mostly because his was already decorated and cozy, with lots of soft stuffed things on the bed. Slowly the two of you began to have a more physical relationship, and most people wrote it off as the two of you being really good friends.
That was until Xigbar came along.
You had never been more scared in your entire life than when he cornered you and asked about your ‘friendship’ with Demyx. You thought the jig was up and that there was going to be some no fraternizing rule that ended either in perpetual teasing for being gay or you becoming a dusk. Honestly, at the moment, you had preferred the later.
But that’s not what happened.
And you were so relieved.
Until Xigbar kissed you.
And you froze up, not knowing why someone was kissing you when you had so clearly just stated that you were having sexual relations with someone else.
Noticing that you were frozen, Xigbar pulled back and chuckled, ‘Why not have both?’
He asked it like it was the most simple question in the world. At first, you couldn’t wrap your head around why he would ask such a stupid question, you can’t date multiple people at once, that’s cheating.
Until you were cuddling with Demyx that afternoon and you brought it up.
“So the weirdest thing happened to me today.”
“Yeah?”
“I was walking back from the kitchen and all of a sudden, Xigbar pushed me into a corner and kissed me.”
“Did you kiss him back?”
“No, but he said I should have two boyfriends. Like that’s a normal thing.”
At this point, Demyx was laughing, not because he found it funny, but because he kind of pitied the fact that you had gone your whole life as a somebody not knowing that there was such a thing as polyamory.
Feeling smart for once, Demyx actually managed to explain poly to you without too much confusion, but the one hang up you had was if you actually wanted this or not. Sure it sounded nice and all, but Xigbar had just randomly kissed you in some random corner of the castle, that didn’t mean that you wanted to date him.
But you thought about the kiss and how it made you feel and how you would have reacted had you not been with Demyx. The more you thought about it the more you realized that you wanted it.
This was when you decided to visit Xigbar, cornering him the same as he had you, grabbing him by the collar and smashing your lips onto his. For the moment, you wanted to see if there was anything there, and although it was a stupid way to do it- it worked.
There certainly was something between the two of you. You couldn’t tell why you hadn’t noticed it before, perhaps it was the fact that you had never truly spoken to him up close and in person or the fact that you barely saw the official number two of the organization as he was always off doing the heavy lifting for them. However, that kiss led to the realization that perhaps two boyfriends wasn’t such a bad idea after all.
Of course, you talked to Demyx about you having another person in your life and to your delight, Demyx was extremely for it. What you weren’t ready for was a three-way relationship with Demyx and Xigbar.
The three of you had been hanging out together in Demyx’s room one afternoon when you started cuddling with Demyx as you usually do. Not wanting Xigbar to feel left out, you told him to come sit on the other side of you. You gave both of them a kiss and then watched in surprise as the two of them shared a look and kissed each other.
At first, your relationship was very sex-heavy, but of course, that slowed down once the three of you got used to spending more time with each other and your relationship began to turn into more of cuddling all the time, just enjoying the silence and the company type of relationship.
The dynamics of your relationship are very unique to the three of you, with Xigbar being the diligent husband type, Demyx being the high school sweetheart type and you being the middle of a very weird, very fun sandwich. This however barely begins to describe how the three of you act together.
You are often worried about the safety of your partners but have to remind yourself that only the strong-willed are able to join the Organization and although you are and Demyx are more disposable than your eyepatched counterpart, you just have to work harder and support each other.
When it comes to things like PDA, Xigbar is more likely to be the person to randomly kiss you in the middle of a busy place, whether it be soft or rough it doesn’t matter, he likes everyone to know that you are together and often he will kiss you then kiss Demyx or put an arm around one of you and kiss the other.
However, on the opposite end of the scale, Demyx is a little shyer and doesn’t like to initiate PDA quite as much. He will definitely be open to show people that he is with you but at the same time, he is not used to being touched in such an intimate way.
Over your relationship, the three of you grow very close, you never say I love you because you’re still not sure if you can, but you do feel as though you can trust them with your life and if you were to be put in a dire situation, you would die for either of them.
Notes: I do want to mention for any future requests that when it comes to poly, not everyone has to be involved in the relationship, I only made everyone involved in this because that is what people tend to think of when they see or hear or poly.
