Illuminations London

I'm having some of my moving image work exhibited next week.

Illuminations is a week long series of events celebrating music, literature and cinema. Performances from Aidan Moffat, Jacco Gardner, James Holden, and others. If I lived nearby I'd be on it like a pigeon on chips.

Abandon Normal Devices (AND) is an energetic regional festival of new cinema, digital culture and art. The festival alternates each year between Liverpool and Manchester, with an extended regional programme.

DIY video mixer

I got my soldering iron out and put this baby together based on Karl Klomp's dirty video mixer circuit. I'm using it to switch between two mini cctv cams that are mounted onstage. Tasty live feedback effects and melting band members galore...

Back off I Like Trains tour...

Back off the @iliketrains tour. Was good fun and hard work. I know more about the German Burger King menu than I ever thought I would. A few thankyous / credits. Thanks to Matt Hopkins and Ben Lankester of The Progress Film Company for allowing me to use their excellent music videos in my live visuals. Top guys with a seriously chunky camera. I also made extensive use of the v002 glitch and blur plugins for VDMX by Anton Marini and Tom Butterworth. Brilliant tools. Thanks for sharing your clever brains with the internet. Also thanks to the band for letting me come along and shine hot white light into your eyes every night. x
