Here she comes. The mourning Holy Mother is carried by the members of The Confraternity of our Solitude. Her dress is heavily reminding of the couture worn by spanish noblewomen, modest but well structured and aristocratic. The distinctive black veil will be replaced on Sunday by a light blue one for "The Meeting" ("S'Incontru") when she will meet her resurrected son. Traditionally the statue of the son will meet her halfway and bow three times in sign of love, gratitude and respect. Sisters of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Solitude (known as such because of the solitude of The Holy Mary after the death of her son). They cover their faces with a beautiful dark veil and wear total black except for white gloves that go together with the candles they carry. One of them, the Prioress leads the others.
