( jy+mj ) on death row —-
At this point, Junior was beginning to have a hard time distinguishing night from day, day from night, despite the insisting and stoic clock faces that stared down at everyone and everything from the building walls. As each day passed by with time seemingly stuck in slow motion, the memories blended one into the other, as if they were perpetually trapped in a day that lasted forever. There was no more peaceful sleep to mark the end of consciousness. When he woke from all the nightmares, the continuous stream of time flowed at its usual pace, as if the last day had never ended.
Everything was too dark in this place.
Even though he constantly and efficiently tracked the time (he was on day four now), there were still little to no hints that would be useful in escaping. He felt his sanity was shrinking each day he remained in this hell, but he still continued to search for clues tirelessly until he passed out from exhaustion.
It was early morning again. The whispers of the ghosts had woken him from his slumber again, although the time spent with his eyes closed with his mind still on high alert probably wouldn't even be considered sleep. He had only rested for two and a half hours. His lantern was dimly lit as he held it up to look out the dirty windows and down at the basketball court below. There were rows upon rows of dead bodies that had accumulated there since day one. It seemed there were people getting killed every hour of the day, and some of the death didn't look pretty.
Junior was reluctant to investigate that site of interest, in fear of shaming the dead and offending their friends who cried endless tears over them. But his feet took him to that very spot ten minutes later. The ground were mostly empty at this hour, but his hand still felt for the gun that was secured between his back and waistband. Crouching down next to the mortified body of a young boy, his hand carefully edged its way into his pockets. He was hoping there might still be leftover clues around here.
As his hands gradually started to infiltrate every body's pockets, he heard a noise from behind that startled him, instantly grabbing for the loaded gun and twisting around to face the other. His voice was stern and unmoving as he stared him down with a harsh gaze. "Who are you?"
