✨ What's your favorite feature about this character?
If we're talking physical feature, probably his hair. It's perfect!
In terms of characterisation, I think for me, it is his commitment to looking after others no matter what. Typically, I might make a character who is caring because they were not cared for. Oskar, however, was well looked-after by his parents, especially considering the fact they embraced that their son was different (in part because his obsession with woodworking, their family business, was ultimately beneficial.) Oskar wants to be like his own parents, and never wants anyone to be without someone who is willing to help. He also does it because vampirism has dulled his emotions and his empathy, and he is constantly trying to fight those feelings. He struggled to get used to them, thinking they made him a monster, and I although I'm not sure if he does or doesn't regret his years as a soldier, he doesn't want to go back to that if he doesn't have to.
🌼 If they were a flower, which one would they be?
That's a good question. I don't have a specific answer, but probably a weed of some sort. Weeds are typically something people don't want around or that are offputting in some manner, but weeds are persistent and can survive in all sorts of environments, and Oskar has been through a lot, but hasn't given up.
