New TS4 Story just started!

I will be doing a new story which, unlike my usual venture into magic and fantasy, will instead be more along the lines of soft sci-fi. It is a sort of reboot of multiple old stories and one cancelled Strangerville project, all set in my 'Aliens Universe' which revolves around Sixamians and the changes that have happened since they made contact with Earth.

It will instead be in the style of typical Tumblr Sims stories - mostly dialogue and pictures, as opposed to my usual style, and will build upon the original plot of the mystery as is in the games. This one will be heavily premades with only a few OCs. It will be partially quite comical and also fairly dark and have some level of body-horrorish themes. I love parasitoids both real and fictional, so I'm likely going to have fun with this and it's part of the reason I love the Strangerville pack so much because of the plant infection and the mind control and such, hehe.

It focuses on the New Sixam (the name of Strangerville in the story) investigation from the POV of three different people - journalist Oliver, militarywoman Jess and Meredith, the wife of Ted Roswell, who everyone is suspicious of. All three of them are on the lookout for different things, and their stories will remain separate for much of the story (so far). The invasive plants in New Sixam has been blamed on Sixamians themselves, but the Daily Plumbob is convinced this is not the case and wants to publish something in order to both spread the word and prevent a pandemic as well as prevent violence against Sixamians over misinformation.

Jess is tired of being left in the dark and growing suspicious of the military, and is having second thoughts on it entirely, also realising that it is harming her family and relationships - and Meredith is sick of her husband's dodging questions and his lies and wants to get to the bottom of why he's acting the way he is.

The first page of my new Sims story that will revolve around Strangerville, called New Sixam in this story. As you can see, this story is in a different style to my other Sims stories, and we're moving away from historical and fantasy this time. Fun!

So I don't clog the dash, I'll be putting most of these story posts under the 'Keep reading' cut. Interestingly, this prologue is very similar to the prologue of one of the archived stories this one is a partial reboot of, right down to some of the dialogue being almost the same. I hope you will enjoy this one.

Image 2 News Reporter: Today marks the third anniversary of the New Sixam Massacre, where alien violence led to the deaths of the humans who they had once cordially invited to live with them… Ollie: Mummy, are aliens dangerous?

Image 3 Ellen: No, that man on the telly is lying. Anyway, why are you watching that? Why not watch cartoons? Ollie: I don't want to. Ellen: Okay. Well, I'm dishing up tea in a bit anyhow - then it's bedtime for you…are you okay?

Image 4 Ollie: Mummy, can I ask you a question? Ellen: Of course. Ollie: Why do the men on the news lie? I thought news was about true things.

Image 5 Ellen: The thing is, sweetie, the news on the telly and in the paper is supposed to be true. Sometimes people lie by accident - maybe they misunderstood something. But sometimes, they lie on purpose, to hurt other people, or so they get what they want. Do you understand what I mean?

Image 6 Ollie: I think so. Like when I lied that I was sick last week so I didn't have to go to school. Ellen: That was a lie?! Ollie: I'm sorry, Mummy. I won't lie again, I mean it.

Image 7 Ellen: Well, everyone lies a little - but maybe don't lie about that again, okay? School is important. Ollie: Okay, I won't - but that news man is a bad man! Ellen: He is, but not everyone is bad like him. Some people really do want to be good and truthful.

Image 8 Ellen: Ollie, I know that the world is scary sometimes and bad things happen a lot - but not everyone is a nasty person. There are plenty of good people in the world, and I want you to be a good person too, okay? Ollie: Okay, Mummy, I'll try and be good. I love you. Ellen: I love you too, my dear - more than anything.

I never thought I'd need more than 2 sessions to furnish this flat, but I do. I still haven't finished the hallway. I'm thinking of furnishing 2 other flats on this lot, as there are still 4 left. But I'm indecisive which one of my sims will move in, so I'll probably just take a break from this lot, I have too many WIPs anyway.

Boyfriend material: Donovan, from my occult megasave. Dude is absolutely the cliché of ‘tortured soft-spoken gentlemanly vampire dude’ and he’s not gonna even consider doing anything untoward to anyone he’s with, whether that’s just respecting space they need or you know...not eating them. Expected to like you more: Lucian from my shelved Modern Monsters story. This is partially due to not being sure what to do with him after I cannibalized parts of his story’s setting for other projects, but I’ve been rolling some ideas around for him + a few other neglected OCs (as evidenced by his partially-updated sim in the screen I used), so maybe that’ll change. We could be besties: Ashton from my occult megasave. 10/10 would burn down the system with. Love the attitudes: Amie from my VtM save, as well as her FFXIV nightkin version. Her VtM version is exactly what you’d expect an old money Ventrue to be, with perhaps more ‘genuine’ friendless towards others. Her FFXIV version has a very different backstory, but she has the same ‘openly friendly until you give her a reason to not be and by the time you realize she’s not it’s too late’. Would watch all the edits at 3 AM: Lukas from my Twisted Fate save. The amount of shit I’ve put this man through and the grey/grey morality of his story will always make me cling onto him even a decade after the RP site he was made for is gone. Deserves better: Vanya from my VtM save, as well as his FFXIV nightkin version. He's a cunt, sure, but the fact that all it takes to sway him into being less fucked up is a few people that actually care and don't view interactions as transactions says a lot. Vanya is a perfect case of 'I can make him better' AND 'I can make him worse' depending on who's there to influence him. My gorgeous cutie pie: Varrien from my occult megasave. His entire life can be described as 'Oh no I fucked up' but at least he's endearing as hell while he fails. Comfort character: Tetsuke from my FFXIV save. I'm reminded all the time how glad I am using him as my XIV character gave him the proper story and attention he deserved, and now anytime when I just wanna take screens of a character but have no idea WHAT I wanna do, I just take pics of this grumpy cactus. Expected to like you less: Angel from my occult megasave. He was only supposed to be a side character at best to add some interesting elements to Ashton's gameplay, but his counterbalancing of Ashton's hot-headed impulsiveness and general cinnamon-roll-ness made him just as much a main character of my werewolves save as Ashton was. No one can make me hate you: Marielle from my normie megasave but also so SO many other places. My extremist vigilante politically incorrect mean lesbian trope queen. Underrated: Rilvim from my VtM save, as well as his FFXIV nightkin version. Even I'm guilty of not giving the dude proper attention, and then remembering how fond I am of how I set him up as a contrast to Vanya in both attitude and storyline. No one can make me love you: Zhen from my VtM save. She makes a great purposeful foil/annoyance, and I have fun coming up with her catty bullshit, but my god girl, you're insufferable without a cast of other characters around you. Girlfriend material: Lishara from my SWTOR save. I don't have her sim updated so forgive the crappy pic, but Lishara is another wholesome bean who'd exile herself in shame for a year when she messed up/hurt someone (I know because she did in her story). Unfortunately she's also already married, but the point stands. My baby: Divarne from my SWTOR save. This dumbass is always in my top 3 OCs at any given time, even if it's one of his variations like his XIV or D&D self. Wish you were real: Rikima from my SWTOR save. Everyone needs a mom freind with Mandalorian tough-as-nails approach to protecting her loved ones.
