|✖|—;; He'd woken up once or twice over the course of the day, but the heavy, stinging pain in his chest made him question the use of getting up. Every time he'd opened his eyes, he knew that there was something he wasn't remembering; that something had happened, but he was too tired and disoriented to bother trying to recall. This time, though, sleep isn't coming back to him and he is slowly beginning to stir. Heavy eyelids lift and he rolls onto his side, breathing in and looking at the dark stains on the sheets. Blinking, it all seems to come back to him at once, and his hand lifts to trace over the still-weeping wound. He pulls in a deep breath, trying to ignore the sting. Maybe it would go away eventually.
