It’s otherwise a quiet morning, but for the footsteps Delta hears. She pauses in her movements, still somewhat groggy from sleep, and listens. They sound human, that’s a certainty, which leaves the raptor tempted to pay no mind. She’s more used to humans wandering the area than in the past; ever since the park reopened, the raptors have become one of the exhibits. Being ogled is no longer something that bothers to gain her attention, unless there’s an unwitting hand slid between the bars of the cage.
Resuming her pacing, the velociraptor sniffs around casually, searching for leftover morsels of food from the day before. Instead, however, she picks up a different scent. One the wind is blowing her way. One that seems to be coming from the direction of the footsteps. It should be of no interest, it should be human scent, but this... There’s something different about this one. Something familiar.
Lifting her head, Delta turns in the direction of the approaching figure, a curious noise rising from her throat. The scent smells human, but it also carries the scent of a raptor. Odd for many reasons, but namely in this moment because it’s an unfamiliar raptor scent -- and it’s coming from outside the cage. A low, territorial growl is issued, and yet, the velociraptor begins carefully approaching the edge of the enclosure to check things out.
