// So I’ve been pretty down lately but I managed to get some drawing done which helped. In my head @eyes-on-me-please will act as @mvgicians ‘s assistant during magic shows. And I was telling ally that @camcronturner would never get Sutton and Syd mixed up because their color palettes are so drastically different... also I will always make up an excuse to draw Sutcam 🤷🏽♀️
HIYA FOLKS! Mickey here to bother y’all with the one and the only Oz Lamar (TAKE 2). This tall glass of water can’t turn off his big dick energy, loves his planner, and rather slash his own tires than go to Sunday dinner with his mother. Sorry, give him one sec he’s facetime’ing with his godparents the Obamas.
Alrighty! Below is some background info on everyone’s favorite wizard. If you’re into fact/info pages click “here.” Moodboards? Click “here.” More headcanon goodies to be posted soon! So without further ado...
Here’s the skinny...
(tw: child abuse, gun mention)
Oz comes from a fabulously wealthy family, frequently in the public eye.
His mother is a renown brain surgeon; his late father a respected judge and investor. Both have/had connections with various politicians, business moguls, and law enforcement.
But don’t let that spread in Time magazine fool you! Oz (often) had the shit beat out of him by his father, resulting in serious injuries such as the deafness in his left ear. Daisey had been the only person who knew about this abuse.
Speaking of, he and Daisey lived a couple doors down from each other as children. They were close enough to have their own little imaginary kingdom in the wood behind their homes — their very own Bridge to Terabithia.
When they had gotten too old for make-believe, Oz opted to climb the tree by Daisey’s window. They would have their late night conversations from there or inside. He remembers many a night sneaking out before her father could discover them. It was a fun game they played for years, leaving dating officially until well into their time at St. Etienne.
(Y’all he loVED her and Oz don’t do LOVE so she was real important to him na’mean? Her death fucked him up. It’s good that he doesn’t let anyone close because he was a mess)
The first defining event in his life (the second being Daisey’s murder) takes form in his father’s murder, which was plastered all over the news. It was a grisly homicide, leaving the judge shot a total of 5 times in the study of their home. It’s been a cold case for years.
Oz’s personality (at least the one he outwardly shows) is that of your typical politician. Listen. He knows how to say what people want to hear… look at his dimples! He’s so darn cute. Like Daisey, he maintains a spotless reputation to the public.
In actuality, Oz isn’t the easiest to get to know. Thus, Daisey was special. He never was all that willing to let people in, especially not now. You may think you’re friends with Oz but, more likely than not, he’s merely putting on some sort of an act for you. For lack of a better term, he has different levels of himself he’ll show to certain people.
He smokes but never in public.
He feels indifferent about his mother’s remarriage. He and his step-sibling get along well enough but in all honesty, Oz sincerely hopes they don’t expect them to be one big happy family. The Lamars don’t really do that. It’s nothing personal. Oz hasn’t decided if he considers his step-sibling a Lamar (he most likely doesn’t/will never) but because of their current circumstance, he’s dedicated to keeping them safe. They’re family now after all.
Connections (My connections page is a WIP, but for the time being here are some ides)
Rivals/enemies (Fair warning, Oz is going to play the innocent, bigger person card. Always.)
People Oz will hang around in public settings
People close with Daisey (friends, enemies, etc.)
An “I love to hate you” type of deal y’knowwhatImean?
Someone who pushes his buttons/can crack that perfect mask of his (possibly an offset of the above connection)
