Yifan wakes up to his cheek pressed against the rough concrete, his head pounding to a dull rhythm. With a scrunch of his nose and a soft wince, he pushes himself to sit on the asphalt, presently aware of how his bones ache with every movement. He lets out a sigh and closes his eyes, taking in a deep breath to calm his racing heart.
When he opens his eyes again, the warm rays of the setting sun blinds him momentarily and he squints, rubbing a scratched palm over his rugged face. It takes him a while to accept the fact that it has happened again.
The streets, that he was so familiar with, are empty as the last of the adrenaline lends him a hand to get on his feet. With a soft grimace, Yifan shuffles into the shabby train station behind him.
Papers and rubbish litters the tiled floor and the railings are rusting, its paint peeling with a metallic scent hanging in the air. He barely makes it to the bench, his eyes already closed before he flops on the seat, the wood creaking under his weight as a wave of fatigue wash over him.
“Hello, young man.” Yifan flinch and his eyes flew open to see a woman on at the next bench, hunched over a badly worn book, the pages torn and seems to be fading from where he sits. Her hair a pepper grey as she dons on a maroon cardigan, wrinkles deeply engrave by her swollen eyes. Yifan’s eyes lingers as he stares, there’s something captivating about her gaze.
“W-what?” His voice’s raw, coming out as a croak instead and Yifan coughs.
“You waiting for the train?” She asks as she smiles to herself and Yifan frowns, having no heart to tell her that the train services have already stopped.
Seeing no reply given, her smile widen to reveal holes where teeth used to be. Her frail fingers drags across the yellowing pages of the book.
“I’m waiting for someone, you know, young man?”
“Oh, really? Who?”
“He’s someone really special,” She says. “I’m waiting for him.”
Yifan nods meaningfully and he wonders if she could see that.
“He used to make me blush all the time, and my heart beating fast too. Still does now.” The elder continues with a giggle. “Spoilt me so much. This book from him too, you know? Sadly, I can’t read but he promised to teach me how to.”
Yifan eyes the woman. He had time after all.
“How about I’ll read to you?”
Her face brightens up within seconds and he can’t help but to smile too. Moving over, Yifan sits next to her and carefully reach over to take the book from her, only to flip to the first page to see his own scribble of a handwriting on it.
“M-madm,” He starts, eyes watering. “You said that this book was from the man you are waiting right?”
“Well, of course, young man!” She chirp. “I know my eyesight isn’t good but are you deaf?”
Yifan stares at the page, his lips trembling as he reads the words over and over again.
“H-how did he looked like?”
She hums, deep in thought before replying, “The last time I saw him, we were in early youth, young and free. He was very tall, always laughing at me for being short but young man, I tell you I am of average height! He was just too tall! He has giant hands, always engulfing my small ones, even though I might complain a lot but may I secretly tell you that I really like it when he does that. He also has the most beautiful and loving eyes that I came to love so much, and his smile. Mind my exaggeration, young man, but his smile could save the world from salvation.”
Yifan purses his lips, watching tears roll down her cheeks as the smile on her face could possibly widen even more. His chest feels tight when he move to hold her hand in his large ones and silence pursue.
A/N: this belongs to ‘Of Powers, Insanity and Chaos!AU’, feel free to tell me what you think about this!! ;) (the rest of this Au can be found here) <3
Junmyeon had often pride himself for being able to work in various conditions.
For instance, there was this one time when Yifan was working overtime and he had taken care of Chanyeol and Baekhyun, who were barely one, and Yixing who was a little over two, while tackling the chores around the house, one-single handedly as he ran to and fro to tend to the piercing wails of the children and the stubborn stains on the kitchen tiles.
And there was this other time, when he had wrote two full reports during an especially loud session of play-time, typing and organising data of the company's financial situation through war cries and resounding thuds of toys hitting the floor, only getting up once to care for Kyungsoo who had unfortunately suffered the effects of Chanyeol's powers.
But somehow, the continual babble coming from the toddler sitting by the kitchen island was starting to grate on his nerves.
"T.A.O!!!"
Junmyeon grips the knife in his hand tighter as Zitao giggles, thumping his fists on the table.
It all started when Baekhyun returned from kindergarten yesterday, excited and exhilarated to have learnt about the alphabets and a little on how to spell. Apparently, the kid had been so hyped up about forming words that he had asked his teacher on how to spell his brothers' names. He had then took it upon himself to teach Zitao on how to spell his name, in which the toddler had been reciting it since the day before.
Don't get Junmyeon wrong though; it was endearing to see his sons play and learn together and it was cute to see Zitao chant his name repeatedly but the charm was wearing off and it was starting to annoy him.
"T.A.O!!"
His eyes twitches.
Just then, Junmyeon hears the familiar tinkle of keys and he takes in a sharp breath, throwing the knife on the chopping board.
He gathers Zitao in his arms with a ecstatic glee from the infant, and grabs Zitao's coat and shoes before pushing the child into the arms of an unsuspecting Yifan.
"Take him out to play and don't return till dinner time." Junmyeon then shoves the taller out of the door and leans against the timber, a confused muffle sounds from the other end of the doorway.
I'm a very big fan of your blog! Esp, your scenarios! You deserve more love than this! (: May I request for a one shot with Park Chanyeol? He comes home from his two months final world tour, late as unexpected. He finds his wife sleeping soundly on the sofa waiting for him. Unaware, he was touched by seeing his wife's small baby bump. Thank you! ((:
A/N: Thank you!! :) It’s not much but I hope you like it ^^ I really enjoyed writing though, almost died from the fluff xD
It was an understatement to say that Chanyeol was tired, he was exhausted. It was the wee hours of the morning after all and he was more than ready to fall asleep just right there. His flight was delayed and he could barely sleep on the plane with the man behind him snoring so loudly. To add on to his headache, a fan had screamed into his ears when he had exited the airport’s departure gates with his members. He was more than annoyed, not that he hates his fans or anything but you couldn’t blame him, he was just a poor overworked man.
With a frown, Chanyeol walked into the house, hauling his luggage in with him before slamming the door shut with a loud bang that echoed throughout the house. He winced, regretting his action. The last thing he wanted was to wake his wife up, in which she behaves like a grumpy child when she does, especially now when she was entering her second trimester (which was another reason why he wanted to rush home, other than his desperate need to sleep). He sighed and abandoned his luggage by the hallway. He could always deal with it when he has his full ten hours of sleep. With his eyelids heavy and almost drooping, Chanyeol shuffles in the darkness and dragged himself to the couch, where he planned to crush for the night, when he realized he wasn’t the only one in the room.
The television was switched on though muted, he noticed, and was playing some late night cooking show that was made to torture the few people awaked in the wee hours. The light from the box glared off the figure lying on the couch, mouth opened as she snores lightly with her hands wedged under her cheek. Her shirt was dragged up to her chest and a blanket left forgotten on the floor, probably the aftermath of all the tossing and turning. His lips pulled into a smile for the first time that day and he moved to sit down on the floor next to the furniture, picking up the woolen material to cover her when her eyes fluttered open.
“Chanyeol?” She whimpered. “Am I dreaming?”
Chanyeol chuckled and reached out to run his hand through her messy locks before resting his hand by her cheek, caressing it.
“I’m back.” His wife smiled and leaned into his palm, her eyes barely opened, still heavy with sleep. She grabbed his other arm and pulled him on to the couch, next to her though it was a tight fit. Their legs get tangled together almost immediately.
Chanyeol pressed a kiss on her forehead, a contented sigh escaping his lips. He was finally home.
“What are you doing out here?” He asked, voice muffled as he buries his face in her hair.
“Couldn’t sleep.” She mumbled drowsily. “Baby keeps kicking.”
He laughed and his hand moved down to rub the baby bump, his eyes slightly widening, surprised at how much it had grown since the last time he touched it, which was a month ago, just before he left for his world tour.
“Might be like you after all, hyperactive little kid.” She added but Chanyeol was too overwhelmed to reply, his eyes suddenly watering.
He pursed his lips and pressed harder at the bump, though not hard enough to inflict pain. His eyes squeezed shut and his breath grew shallow as he felt a weak kick from his child against his palm. Chanyeol suddenly felt more awake than he was the past few hours. He breathed in shakily.
“Chanyeol?” She called, worried by the sudden silence.
“Are you crying?” “No.” He lied and his voice cracked. His wife burst out into laughter, her giggles filling the apartment. His ears turned red and embarrassed, he hugged her tighter, humming a tune next to her ear and only after he was sure that she had returned back to sleep, he unwrapped himself from her, moving to sit on the floor instead.
“Hello baby,” He whispered to the bump with a hand placed over it, his thumb rubbing small circles. “It’s Daddy.”
A kick to his hand and he grinned.
“I’m going to spoil you so much when you’re born. We can play whatever you want and Daddy can teach you to play the guitar. Do you like that?” He paused, feelings choking him up as his throat tightened.
“Daddy will buy you cute snapbacks even though Mommy doesn’t really like them, it could be our type of thing.” Leaning forward, he pecked his wife’s stomach.
A scenario where one day Park Chanyeol 's wife who has Alzheimer remembers the past four years of being with him. Angst,Romance, Smut if possible (if not it's okay ^^) thanks
He watches in unvoiced pain.
He watches how life escapes her doe eyes with each sunrise and sunset and it breaks him.
It breaks him every time he look into her dull eyes.
It breaks him every time she gives him a foreign look before recognition hits her.
It breaks him and it tears him apart from inside.
The pain to watch your love one forget you bit by bit rips Chanyeol to pieces.
Still, he picks himself up, glueing himself back together for he must be her pillar but for how long more can he hold on?
Chanyeol doesn’t know, he doesn’t care.
He wakes up, chest tight and already exhausted by the thought of the day ahead but he peers down and gets his strength back. He pulls her closer and his head dips down to find comfort in her black locks, tears already brimming in his eyes.
He holds her tight and frowns.
He holds her tighter and hope.
Chanyeol lets out a shaky breath and presses his lips on her head when the body in his arms tenses. He feels a jab to his rib but his arms remain wrapped around her.
“I-it’s me.” He chokes and the struggling stops.
“I’m sorry.” Came a muffled reply.
Chanyeol bites on his lip to suppress a sob.
“Chanyeol?” He hums a reply, not trusting his voice.
“I’m sorry for the past few years.” Chanyeol stiffen. “Thank you for remembering who I am even when I forget. Thank you for remembering our yesterdays. Thank you for remembering us.”
He presses a hand over his mouth, belated tears falling as he trembles along with the racking sobs.
Okay so I procrastinated and wrote this instead and that I am a sucker for mpreg and mama!au. But tell me what you think as I now go stuff ‘knowledge’ into my brain :)
Dark fumes hang heavily in the air and bodies, seared and dismembered beyond recognition, scatter across the land. Twelve men stand in the midst of the chaos, mentally and physically exhausted.
Kyungsoo feels his head swirl and the bile threatens to climb up his throat.
The war against the Dark ones had existed for as long as Kyungsoo remembered and they were getting stronger by the moment. He remembers the soldiers from the palace marching down the street and gathering by the town square with a silk roll in hand when he was five. He remembers his mother holding him close to her as everyone flocked around. He remembers the deadly silence when the head guard read the royal decree.
It was then his world changed.
His mother dragged him home with trembling hands and fear in her eyes.
“Mama?”
“Baby soo,” Her voice quivering. “Remember when mama said that you couldn’t tell anyone about our special secret?”
Kyungsoo nodded, tears in his doe eyes. Seeing his mother so afraid stirred something in his five-year-old self. What was happening?
“Let’s play a more difficult game, okay? Our baby soo can do that, right?”
Another nod.
“You cannot use your powers anymore, okay? If you do that, no more cookies for you.” Kyungsoo whimpered and shook his head, running into his mother’s arms.
“No!!” He wailed. “Soo won’t use his powers anymore!! Soo wants cookies.”
His mother lets out a shaky sigh, tears falling.
For five years, he didn’t use his powers. For five years, they thought they were safe. But how wrong they were.
He watched how his mother broke down when the guards came to get him. He listened to her endless apologises as she held him in her arms for the last time.
“I’m sorry, ‘Soo.” She sobbed. “Please protect yourself, baby. Come back alive.”
It wasn't supposed to turn out like this. He was supposed to stay hidden, they weren't supposed to find him, to take him away, to take everything away from him.
He looks into his mother's eyes, desperation and sorrow filled the two orbs. Kyungsoo doesn't reply, he doesn't need to, for even the ten-year-old knew that it would be the last time. He simply just leaned into her touch.
It was then the serenity ended and the trouble began.
He met eleven others who were just like him, taken away from their families and peaceful lives. They were told that they were the last chance the nation had to save themselves, they said that they were the Twelve.
Training began and ended each day with tears and injuries etching themselves on their skin. The twelve boys had nothing but each other.
Kyungsoo remembers nights where the sun-kissed boy crawled into his embrace, sobbing into his shoulder. He remembers nights where the boy held him tight, whispering words into his ears, adrenaline high in his veins. He remembers nights when they were in their own world, where chaos and reality couldn't reach them. He remembers how the boy, now a fine man, was and still is his everything.
“Jongin,” Kyungsoo breathes. The said man turns sharply to look at him fondly when Kyungsoo doubles over, heaving out whatever he has left in his stomach. He tears up and almost falls before Jongin teleport over to catch him just in time.
“Soo.” He mumbles. “Yixing ge!”
“What’s wrong?” Yixing walks over with a frown. He stabs his knives back into the pouches at the side of his waist and wipes his palms roughly on his pants. Blood stains the fabric.
Kyungsoo closes his eyes, letting Yixing runs a palm from his face down and when he reopens them, he finds Yixing’s palm hovering over his abdomen, eyes wide with surprise.
“What’s wrong?” Jongin presses, fear and worry dominates his voice.
“Kyungsoo’s-”
“Guys?” Junmyeon interrupts. “We have company.”
Kyungsoo looks over Jongin’s shoulder and his hold on Jongin’s arm tightens.
Thousands silhouettes litter the horizons.
He hears Jongdae cursing and Zitao’s breath hitching.
“There’s too many of them.” Minseok snarls.
“Jongin.” Yifan calls and Jongin replies with a curt nod. Everyone huddles around them and darkness blinds Kyungsoo for a moment before light flood back.
“Are you sure?” Yixing nods. Kyungsoo lets out a shaky sigh, staring at his hands and Jongin gapes at the healer in disbelief.
Silence engulfs the room. Their situation was too solemn for any of them to burst out in joy.
“Way to go, Jongin.” Chanyeol whoops with a small smile.
“Congratulations, Kyungsoo and Jongin.” Junmyeon says.
“Hopefully it won’t inherit Kyungsoo’s satanic side.” The somber mood finally lifts temporarily and everyone laughs. Everyone but Kyungsoo.
He looks up from his hands, tears on the verge of falling. His eyes meets Luhan’s ones and he knows the petite male was reading his mind. Luhan walks over and sits down next to Kyungsoo, wrapping his arm round his shoulder.
“The baby will be fine.” Luhan murmurs.
“In this type of environment,” Kyungsoo croaks. “Nothing will be ‘fine’.”
Beside him, Jongin takes Kyungsoo’s hand, rubbing it with his thumb, an unsaid agreement voiced.
“The Earthbender and the Shadow Walker, you should be training, what is wrong?” The Head Elder sits at the front of the room with the other Elders, annoyance visible on his face.
“Kyungsoo’s pregnant and it’s my child that he bears.” Jongin repeats at a louder voice. A loud bang echo in the room, the Head Elder slams his fist on to the table.
“Did you know what this means?” He hiss.
“I know. I just need to be given a few months off. The child will be born-”
“The nation is at war!” One of the Elders holler. “The nation needs you!!”
“But please, I’m just asking for a few months off and I will fight for the nation.”
“It would be too late then! The Dark Ones are getting stronger and stronger by the moment. We need to fight!!” The youngest Elder cries.
“Get rid of it.” The Head Elder growls. Silence falls upon them. “Get rid of it and return back to training.”
Kyungsoo’s beyond angry.
They can take them away from their families. They can treat them like objects that are built to fight. They can take away everything he had. But they couldn't just do it again. Since the very day he was taken away from his mother, he had been a little lamb, following every single instruction given to him.
Everything that he had built since then, it was being threatened.
He grits his teeth and grabs Jongin’s arm, leading him out of the room. He doesn’t stop walking. If he stops, if they stop, it might be the end, it might be the end of everything.
“Kyungsoo.” Jongin calls. “Kyungsoo!! Stop!”
He tugs on Kyungsoo’s hand and for the first time, Jongin saw how vulnerable the older is. The Shadow Walker sees a boy. He sees a boy so broken that was always hidden within the Earthbender. He doesn't speak but pulls the smaller into a hug, where thousands of words remain unspoken yet voiced and Kyungsoo clings on to Jongin, crying and afraid of the future that comes.
He breaks down. He breaks down for the first time in years, exhausted.
Jongin holds him tight, tears in his eyes too.
“J-Jongin.” He sobs. “I want to keep the baby.”
“Okay, Kyungsoo, okay.”
“How are you feeling?” Jongin asks, a grin automatically filling his face as he place a hand over Kyungsoo’s stomach.
“Fine, Jongin, like when you ask me ten minutes ago.” He rolls his eyes but nonetheless smiles.
It’s getting harder to hide his abdomen now that he’s at least eight months along but Zitao had gotten him a long heavy robe that was able to cover the bump. Even though it was hot under the thick fabric and that people were getting suspicious, yet seeing how a life was growing inside of him, how it was his and Jongin’s child, it was worth it. Never once had he gotten a doctor to look at it but Yixing was the closest choice they had for a doctor and from what the healer reported, the baby was fine. It was just regretful that they couldn’t learn about the baby’s gender.
Even though it was unexpected, the others were beyond excited for the new arrival, going out of their usual ways to make sure no harm reaches Kyungsoo. He finds Yixing and Chanyeol standing closer during battleground, ready to pounce when a Dark One get too close, and Zitao, Yifan and Luhan takes it upon themselves to find the 'best gift' for the unborn child, unconsciously turning it to a competition. Junmyeon had been in charge of his bubble baths; Jongdae and Sehun fights for every free moment they had to tell jokes to the baby, pressing their faces close to Kyungsoo's swollen abdomen; and he subtly find Minseok close to him when he complains of the heat. It may not be much but Kyungsoo appreciates every one of them because among the violence and destruction, he discovers home for the first time in ten years.
The door to the training room slams open and Kyungsoo jumps at the sudden intrusion. Jongin tenses and springs on to his feet, standing in front of the pregnant man protectively. A servant from the Elders’, Kyungsoo recognises, falls on to his knees, panting hard.
“How dare you interrupt our training.” Jongin growls and Kyungsoo shift uncomfortably on the floor, gripping his robe tighter around his body.
“Jongin.” Junmyeon warns. Jongin’s offensive posture doesn’t relax but he moves back to sitting next to Kyungsoo, after giving Sehun a glance and he slips his hand into Kyungsoo's smaller one. Kyungsoo watch Sehun nod, subtly moving closer towards them with Zitao.
“What is it?” Yifan asks.
“I-it’s a big mess, my lords!!” The servant stammer. “The Dark Ones are spotted heading towards the nation!!”
“What?” Baekhyun gasps.
“My lords, please, the Elders have requested for you to immediately be in the front line.”
“We understand, please leave now.” The servant mumbles a farewell and scurry out of the room.
Eyes fall on to Kyungsoo and he bites his lip.
“I can do this.” He ensures, grabbing at Sehun’s arm to pull himself up.
“But-”
“I can do this. Help gear me up, please.” He gives Jongin a nod and a pleading look.
He wants to do this for the innocent lives involved. He wants peace and quiet. He wants all of this to end, for once and for all.
Battle cries and the suffocating scent of blood fills the air and Kyungsoo feels nauseous. He takes a deep breath through his mouth instead, and watch the phoenix swoop down with a loud squeal, setting a few of their opponents on fire as Chanyeol climbs to board the mythical creature. He watch Zitao smirk at the dark masses, twirling his wooden staff around before striking it at the crucial spots. He watch as thousand more come rushing towards them. A growl escapes his lips when he turns sharply to his left, eyeing the black blobs darting towards him with swords held high and he lifts his leg up. He waits for them to get closer before stomping his foot down into the ground hard. The land cracks open and they fall into the creek below, becoming one with the Earth's core. Kyungsoo smiles in satisfaction yet it didn’t last long when a kick from behind sends him to the floor. His hands flies protectively to his stomach but a sharp pain shoots up his back.
“Kyungsoo!!” He hears but his eyes are closed tight, the pain spreading over to his lower half of his body.
“Are you okay?” It’s Jongin. Kyungsoo grabs at his hand and let out a painful gasp.
“T-the baby.” He wheezes out.
“Jongin?” Kyungsoo opens his eyes to see Baekhyun hovering him. He groans.
“Jongin!” His eyes follows Baekhyun’s pointed finger and he grits his teeth in surprise. A puddle of liquid stain the ground a dark brown, tracing back to his leg.
“Yixing ge.” Jongin shouted. “Yixing ge!!”
The pain gets harder to endure and Kyungsoo could only squeeze his eyes tight.
“Oh. Oh!!” He picks up Yixing’s gasp.
“Oh shit.”
“Kyungsoo,” Yixing says. “Could you use your powers still?”
He barely manages a nod.
“Good. Could you manipulate a higher ground with a cave, maybe?” The ground rumbles around them and slowly, the terrain around them elevates, the bright rays of the sun slowly disappearing.
“Good job, Soo.” Yixing mutters as he spreads open Kyungsoo’s legs.
“Jongin.” Kyungsoo hiss and the grip on his hand tightens. It is then when he realises Jongin had been holding his hand all the while.
“Yeah?”
“Go help the rest.”
“W-what?”
“Go help the others. Yixing can handle this.” He whimpers. Jongin eyes him with uncertainty.
“Go.” Yixing ensures.
Jongin leans down and presses a kiss by Kyungsoo’s forehead.
“I love you. Please be safe.”
He nods and watches as black smoke replaces Jongin’s spot. His hand falls loose on to the floor and grips at the soil instead, the mud sending a wave of comfort down his spine.
“Are you ready, Kyungsoo?” He feels his trousers being pulled down and air rushes to his nether regions.
A scream resonate across the battleground.
A man runs down the corridor, clutching at his robes as he drag a boy along. Angry shouts behind them only encourage the man to run faster. He turns back and pause, flicking his wrist at the soldiers behind. A solid wall made out of dry soil stands in between them and the man smiles before gripping the smaller hand tighter. It won’t be able to last long though, the man thinks and drags his son into the empty room. He shuts the door behind him and presses his body to the door, holding the boy close to him as he clasps a hand over the child’s mouth. Black fumes surround them and it forms a silhouette of man before the sound of a heavy weight dropping on to the floor clearly echo in the room. The man with the child glares at the other and the Shadow Walker returns an apologetic look. They wait quietly, ears flattened on the door to listen for any signs and when both men decided that it is safe enough, they fall on to their knees, eyeing the child with so much fondness.
“Tae-oh, baby,” The Earthbender calls, reaching out to hold the said boy’s shoulders. He pulls at his hood of his robe, smiling at the child fondly. “Let’s play a game, okay?”
A/N: Of Powers, Insanity and Chaos!AU, tell me what you think about this!! ;) (the rest of this Au can be found here) Merry Christmas Eve!! <3
It was a lovely day. Minseok and Luhan arrived with their kids just a while ago and it was absolutely pleasant to see the children to play together while the parents sat under the shelter chatting (with the exception of Yifan who ran around trying to keep his kids safe from the ‘dangers’ of the park).
It was just perfect, really.
Until it started raining.
Wait, no, scratch that. It was storming. Heavy rain, bright lightning, loud thunder and all.
“Jongin!!” Luhan yells, covering his head as he runs across the playground to get to the child first before he teleports himself away. But no. Jongin just love torturing his dad.
The four-year-old disappears into the thin air, black smoke replacing the place that he once stood.
Luhan curses under his breath.
“Rain!!” Zitao squeals as Yifan scoops the toddler up in his arms. “Daddy, rain!!”
“Yes, baby, rain.” Yifan pants from all the running and drops Zitao under the shelter. “Stay here, okay? Don’t go out.”
“Rain!!” Zitao giggles and Yifan takes that as a yes, (it makes his life easier so why not?) before leaving to save his children from getting any wetter.
He runs into a crying Chanyeol and immediately pick the boy.
“I don’t like rain, daddy.” The seven-year-old sobs. Yifan pets the boy on the back.
“I know, yeolie.” He coos, running back to the shelter so that the boy need not to be under the rain anymore. Sitting down on the bench next to Zitao, who was mumbling something to himself, Yifan hopes that Junmyeon could handle the other kids while he rocks Chanyeol in his arms.
But since when Junmyeon could handle the other kids. The adult runs after Baekhyun to his best ability with Kyungsoo in his arms and Yixing wrapped around his leg, wailing pathetically.
“Come on, Baek!” He shouts. “You will get sick!”
“No!!” The child screams and Junmyeon could feel himself getting drenched by the second. He whimpers and continues to chase after Baekhyun.
“Why can’t you control the rain or something?!” Minseok yells at him from a distance away, trying to chase after a giggling Sehun who managed to hide himself in the tunnel slide.
“I can only control water, not rain!!” He shouts back when lightning flashes and thunder quickly follows. Junmyeon quicken his pace, finally near enough to grab Baekhyun. The boy whines and wiggles around, hoping to be able to escape but Junmyeon had a surprising strong hold on him.
“Rain, water, the same!!” Minseok scowls, not appreciating how wet he was getting. He lowers himself and peeks through the end of the tunnel slide.
“Sehun,” He calls. “I’ll buy you ice cream if you come out of the slide.”
A moment of silence and Minseok got his arms full with Sehun the next.
“Ice cream!!” The toddler squeals in glee.
“Is everyone here?” Yifan asks. Minseok looks around and spots Luhan with Jongin tuck under his arm and nods.
Wait.
“Where’s Jongdae?” Luhan’s eyes widen and his eyes sweep the sheltered space. His eyes only grows in size when there’s no sight of Jongdae.
Jongdae likes lightning. No, he loves it. He like how it brightens up the dark sky when it rains, how it creates a warm fuzzy feeling in his chest when it shoots out of his hands. Besides, it made him feel like Elsa from the movie too. But instead, he was the King of Lightning.
So when the sky darkens, and the rain starts pouring down, Jongdae lets the warm fuzzy feeling take over his body as he shoots lightning out of his palm. He giggles along with thunder and dances, shaking his butt every now and than. He doesn’t care when he’s soaked or when Luhan starts marching towards his direction.
“Jongdae!!” Luhan holler, flinching when the thunder roared. He could hear Jongdae singing ‘Let it go’, bright streaks of lightning shoots out of his palm and Luhan bites his lip, wondering if he should actually approach the child.
“Jongdae, come on, we need to get you out of the rain.”
“No!! Bow down to me!! I’m the king!!” Luhan just sighs as he move forward to grab the child. He feels a sting in his arms and he trembles a little.
Maybe he should have listened to Minseok and not play ‘Frozen’ for movie night.

It hurts the most when you lost someone and realizing that you would never have the chance to tell the person how you really feel about him despite the fact that he were so close. It hurts the most when the other person never really know exactly how you felt and how much you care. It's what hurts the most.

Songfic ll What Hurts The Most - Rascal Flatts ll
“It’s not true.” He mumbles.
His words too soft to be heard over the rain pounding on the roof of the empty house.
The tear, that threatened to fall since the start, finally falls, rolling down the side of his cheek.
“It’s not true.”
It was small moments like this when Kyungsoo felt that he was the luckiest man in history. There was no need for words as they lay sprawled on the bed, their limbs tangled together, staring at the other’s eyes. Their lips pulled into smiles in unison and shy chuckles were exchanged. Kyungsoo let his eyes trace the other’s features;
his eyes,
nose,
lips.
It was all too familiar. It was like a treasure map he memorised.
“Jongin.” He called softly, afraid to break the silence.
“Hyung.” The younger teased. “Kyungsoo hyung.” Jongin laughed, his hand reaching out to caress the other’s cheek.
Kyungsoo leaned into Jongin’s warm palm and closed his eyes, savouring the moment. He feels Jongin’s lips on his own, pressing and moulding.
“I love you, hyung.”
The bell chimes when Kyungsoo push open the door, entering the cosy room. The noisy chatters of the patrons and the aromatic scent of the coffee hits him too fast, making him feel dizzy. It was all too familiar.
Kyungsoo allows himself to take a moment, closing his eyes as he wills the tears to return to where they come from. When he reopens his eyes again, he sees his best friend standing in front of him, worried.
“Kyungsoo.” Baekhyun grabs hold of his arm, wrapping his own arm around the younger’s shoulders. “Are you okay?”
Kyungsoo’s throat tightens but he nods.
Baekhyun sighs yet he doesn’t say anything as he lead Kyungsoo up to the second level, where their group of friends were.
“Hey, Kyungsoo!!”
“Dyo do!!”
“Kyungsoo!!”
He barely manages a smile at the calls of his name. All ten of his group of friends are present today, he notices, taking a seat next to Baekhyun. Eyes stay glued on him and Kyungsoo feels naked under their gazes.
“I’m fine.” He mutters and their gazes grow skeptical. “I really am.”
Silence embrace the college students. Kyungsoo could see that they didn’t believe him. He doesn’t blame them though for Kyungsoo doesn’t believe himself too.
He prays for them to let him off for once and they do.
“Um.” Chanyeol coughs as Baekhyun nudges him. “So, are you guys coming to our party this Saturday?”
The noise returns and Kyungsoo feels slightly better.
Slightly.
Kyungsoo wraps his arms around himself, making himself smaller, hoping that none of his friends would initiate a conversation with him.
He hears Jongdae making a joke but he couldn’t seem to bring himself to smile.
He turns to his right, perhaps he would feel better, half hoping to see him but only to see Baekhyun.
Kyungsoo chokes and bites down on his bottom lip. He forces himself to look away yet to spot Junmyeon lying comfortably in Yifan’s arms.
The knot in his throat only gets tighter.
The sound of the chair scraping against the tiled floor echos in the room as Kyungsoo abruptly stands up. Silence returns to the group and Kyungsoo looks anywhere else but his friends’ eyes.
“I’m sorry.” He mumbles.
The tears, that he had been holding in, falls as he turns to leave the coffee house, blending and hiding himself in the crowd on the streets.
“Here’s your coffee.” Jongin placed the mug on the table, leaning down to whisper into the older’s ear with a grin plastered on his face. Kyungsoo smiled, lifting his head to place a chaste kiss on Jongin’s plump lips.
Jongin’s smile only got wider as he slid back into his seat to the right of Kyungsoo with his own cup of warm tea.
“Ew, get a room.” Sehun complained across the table, only to groan in pain seconds later, clutching at his shin where Jongin had kicked. Zitao chuckled at his own boyfriend’s pain and earned a glare in return.
“But even I have to agree with this idiot here.” Zitao sneered. “You two are so mushy.”
“Hey!” Sehun whined.
“Shut up, Thehun.” Yifan growled, a pen stuck in his hair as he flipped the page of his textbook in frustration. “Jesus, save my soul. Why are there so many things to memorise?”
The twelve of them were in the coffee house, stuck in the second level, in which the owner specially reserved for them since they frequently visited, becoming their hangout ever since. It was nearing the end of the year, which means that the finals were coming and because most of the twelve college students were lazy asses, they have always waited till the last moment before cramming a year worth content.
“Because you always wait until the last minute, lazy ass.” Yixing teased, throwing a crushed up paper ball at Yifan. Yifan stared at him, insulted and wide-eyed.
“Junmyeon!!” Yifan hissed. “You’re my boyfriend, you’re supposed to defend me.”
Trying his best not to laugh out loud, Kyungsoo watched Junmyeon rubbed his face wearily, picking up his highlighter, sighing.
“Yixing, may I remind you that you are also part of the “lazy ass” term too?” Yixing stuck out his tongue in defeat.
Jongin chuckled, pulling Kyungsoo into his arms and mumbled, “Why do we have such friends?”
Kyungsoo burst out in laughter.
He sits alone in the pickup truck, his knees pulled up to his chest.
The engine of the worn old vehicle still running, the windows rolled down.
Kyungsoo thinks.
He thinks about the moments and it chokes him. The lack of sounds only encourage the thoughts in his head and it hurts. His teeth clenches as he grabs at his head.
They sat together in the pickup truck, limbs tangled together in the limited space.
The engine of the worn old vehicle still running, the windows rolled down.
Kyungsoo thinks.
“Hey,” Kyungsoo called softly. “Jongin?”
Jongin hummed in reply, squeezing the older’s hand in his own.
“Have you thought about the future? What do you see?”
Kyungsoo held his breath, waiting for an answer but none was given. He bites his lip. Was Jongin angry with him?
He lifted his head to peer at Jongin, hoping to find an answer for the younger’s silence but his face was unreadable.
It was when the silence was almost suffocating him, Jongin looked down with a gentle smile as he ran a hand through Kyungsoo’s hair.
“What do you see, Kyungsoo?” He threw the question back at Kyungsoo. A playful look reflected in his eyes and only then Kyungsoo lets out the breath he had been holding.
“I’m serious, Jongin.” He jabs his elbow into Jongin’s side, a small punishment for scaring him. Jongin laughed and pulled the older closer, ignoring the slight discomfort at his ribs.
“Alright, alright.” He gave in. “I see you.” Moving himself, Jongin looked into Kyungsoo’s eyes.
“I see you, Do Kyungsoo.”
It took him a while to register what Jongin said and when it finally sank in, he blushed crimson. His lips stretched into a smile and he tilted his head to fit their lips together
Kyungsoo’s lips spoke love and Jongin’s spoke forever.
He feels his throat tightening and forces himself to swallow the bile threatening to rise. Tears gloss his eyes and Kyungsoo squeezes them shut. His head swirls around and he grips the edge of the leather seat, his knuckles turning white.
Kyungsoo finally lets go.
The tears fall, rolling down his cheeks and on to his jeans and they never stop. He struggles to breath, his body shaking and trembling along with the racking sobs.
With a choke sob, Kyungsoo places a hand on his lower abdomen.
Imagine Kris planning a special surprise for your birthday.
Kris didn't know how to bake a cake. How could he not be able to bake a cake?
The recipe sat right in front of him, smeared with chocolate cake batter (if he could even call it that). A carton of empty egg shells; a glass jar of sugar, its contents spilt across the counter and on the linoleum floor below; a bag of flour, in which some, he was certain, found its way into his hair; and a mixer loudly buzzing in front of him, splattering a little as it made another quick pass around the bowl, seemed like the proper tools in which to bake a cake. But Kris wasn't sure how it happened. First, the sugar spilled, then the flour exploded from the bowl when he went to mix everything together. Baking a cake was not this difficult, he was so sure before. Now all he wanted to do was call Kynugsoo, or better yet, Baskin Robins just across town.
At least he planned ahead. He had been at this cake baking thing since the early morning, right after she left for school. With very little sleep and a birthday that happened to fall at the end of the school semester, Kris knew he had to do something, anything, for her by the time she got home.
He just should have bought a cake though. What made him think that he could just whip one up as if he were a professional pâtissier? Or better yet, maybe he should just draw her a picture of a cake!
No, he had a feeling that she didn't think he was as great of an artist as everyone else did.
But that was neither here nor there.
Now the problem was that he had no cake and a royal mess to clean up.
"Maybe try one more time?" he asked to their empty shared apartment. This seemed like such a good idea at the time that he didn't want it to go to waste. The love of his life would like it no matter how it looked or tasted.
Another two hours later and Kris had what smelled like a chocolate cake. It wasn't pretty, but the toothpick that had been stuck into the center told him that it was done. After cooling it for fifteen minutes, only because he was impatient and if he had to wait any longer he'd probably spontaneously combust, he plopped the icing on top and tried to spread it out evenly.
It wasn't pretty, but he had made it. The batter had tasted decent, so the cake had to as well.
As for decorating it, Kris thought this was right up his alley. He was a master at decorating the cake at least. Just a few sugar confetti pieces and some strawberries, and his original, unique, and one-of-a-kind cake was done.
He decided to bring the cake to the living room, where he set it on the coffee table in front of the couch before closing up the kitchen. Yeah, he'd keep her out of there for a little while. At least for tonight and hopefully until the better part of the day tomorrow (he had plans, okay?), so he could find the time to clean up the mess.
Sitting on the couch, Kris made himself comfortable, not all too sure how long it would take for his beauty to come home. He was prepared and armed with sparklers and a lighter for when she opened the door about half past eight, looking exhausted but accomplished.
He marveled at the way her voice hitched at the sight of his master piece, and he could have sworn her saw happy tears in her eyes.
"I had almost forgotten today was my birthday," she sighed. "There were just more important things happening."
"Nothing is more important than you," Kris smiled as he led her to the cake on the coffee table. "Make a wish!'
He watched as she closed her eyes, concentrating as hard as she could before blowing out the sparklers.
"Oh! I'll go get some forks and plates!" She clapped as she stood, rushing to the kitchen.
Kris smiled and let her pass, feeling very proud of himself.
It only took his a couple of seconds for his smile to disappear, realizing where she was heading.
"No! No, no, no!" he cried as he ran after her. "Babe, no! I'll get it! Don't go in there!"
This is dedicated to xoxowritingdays for her birthday! I hope it was an amazing one! Apologies that this was a little late :D <3
