Character’s Name: Rue ( rudolph virchow. ) Age: 15 Face claim: Asa Butterfield Original 8 or Newcomer: Newcomer 5 Traits: thoughtful, optimistic, photographic memory?, loyal, easy to love. Sample para:

      The world used to be an okay place, school sucked but the food       in the cafeteria was worse— though now he missed that and the        rumble of his stomach was even more proof.  God he hated that       feeling.  But it was something now he was getting more and more       used to as time went by.  Rue started out with another group two       actually, first he came upon them with his mom and dad, but by        the time that group came to it’s end… it took his mom with it. 

      The second group was better, more weapons, more bodies to use       them, but less food.  He used to help scavenge, he was good at        not missing things, and proved to be helpful.  But just as the group       before it ended.  Horribly, painfully, with so much blood and yet an-       other loss for Rue.  

      His father had tried to protect him, told him to RUN, and when Rue       had and by the time he looked back, one of those things was ripping       into him, tearing him apart and would either eat him whole or turn        Rue’s dad into just another one of those things.

      Carrying on after that seemed impossible with the memory of it just       as his mother’s had, etched itself permanently into an unforgettable       collection of memories; but he had his dad, he would help him, keep       him going by telling Rue that his mother wouldn’t want him to give        up.  That she knew he was her little survivor, that the world still need-       ed good people in this world, it needed someone with a heart like        Rue had.  

      Things were harder and often times as he walked for hours and ho-       urs he would be scrubbing his eyes, and trying not to sob in fear of       attracting more of those things.  But it was hard, when there was an       empty hole in his chest where his parents used to be.  It was hard,       and it was scary and he never felt more alone.  But somehow he just       kept moving, as if his parents hands were on his shoulders guiding        him farther and farther towards the towering roller coasters in the        distance, fog clouding them up pretty good but the kid knew they        were there, and despite the chances of more dead people than al-       ive, he had to take that chance, maybe scavenge for food but wh-       at he found though food, was more than that.  People, people the       thing he hadn’t seen in weeks, and nothing felt better than that.
