“i don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about,” it’s unlike kai to throw expletives into a an argument, or any type of conversation -- but he’s frustrated and that’s displayed clear as day across his expression, too. he doesn’t know what to say, how to react otherwise. he’s pissed off, and he doesn’t really care about them knowing that. at least not right now.

“...you’re still coming, right?” never in his life had sebastian considered himself the needy type, or even being capable of it. however something about them really had him wrapped around their little finger. try as he might to fight it, all his attempts were fruitless. he craved them, and whilst he had a surplus about of addictions, they were certainly his main and most dangerous one.

It hurt. She couldn’t deny it, because the reality was, she had been hopelessly in love with him until the day they parted ways, and part of their reason for doing so was their uneven views of the relationship. But now, there he was, on her doorstep months later, confessing that he finally felt that way. It hurt to know that all of a sudden, he was just... there. 

“Cole, I... I don’t know what you expect me to say to this.” she replied, feeling a lump forming in her throat. Her new relationship was still very, well, new. Everything was changing on a daily basis, but he was a good man. Yet here was a man she had been willing to do anything for, standing before her telling her that he loved her now. “Why didn’t you figure this out before?”

“you must see this isn’t going to work,” though he can’t be sure that they have come to that conclusion themselves yet. brows furrow and eyes narrow, watching them with intensity, as if attempting to read their mind. cyril knew that wouldn’t be possible, yet he couldn’t help but give it a shot -- wanting to understand, get in their mind.

“i do always try and make it worth it for you,” she replied with a shrug of her shoulders, as a laugh fell from her lips. it was amusing how much people cared about the brunette, every time she was spotted near evie there was a frenzy. “it’s the most obvious plot twist. i think if someone wanted to work it out then they would’ve but come on we both know they love painting you in this way —– they are obsessed with you,” she spoke with a slight smirk tugging at the corners of her lips, she couldn’t quite put her finger on it but there was something about her. evie simply enjoyed having her around.

“i’m gonna end up more famous than you soon.” a grin started to spread across her face as she spoke, gaze trailing across evie’s features. “they can’t get me off their minds so you’ll be the groupie. imagine that.” it wasn’t a lie that everyone paid close attention to where xanthe was every time they traveled, trying to piece together a timeline and prove she was traveling just to see evie, unaware that she was invited. sure, she’d started out that way but it had grown and no one had quite put that together yet. not that she minded, as long as they were wrong about them, she got to keep visiting the other girl.

“long story short… yes,” she replied as her gaze moved over his features, trying to read his emotions and figure out what he possibly might be thinking. no one was surprised by venice’s actions, she had always been brutally honest and if she wanted something she wouldn’t give up until she got it. so maybe subconsciously she had been hoping for this, for caleb to be here and to be fighting for her. “it’s funny if you asked like everyone that knows me what would surprise them more —- me marrying for money or me marrying for love they would all say love would be more surprising,” she spoke with a light laugh, most people had never known her to be in love. with a sigh she took a small step towards him, “easy and content is better than being alone… i can’t love anyone else so what other options did i have?”

“they don’t know you like i do.” his jaw clenched, not out of anger but the mere frustration. he hadn’t planned on telling her how he still felt, the idea was that he’d say it was a bad idea and she’d just come to her senses, but of course it wouldn’t work that easy for him. it was his only option now. “you could’ve come back to me. if you can’t love anyone else, what makes you think i can? it’s been impossible. i don’t want you marrying him, because then i lose you forever. i don’t want that.”
