To have this towering man come to him and ask to join his pack was rather jarring to Joey. Then his mind traveled to another subject. His own rut was approaching soon, and this would be an excellent way to have it taken care of properly. A hint of a smirk teased the corners of his mouth as he looked up at him.

“Just so you know, I don’t really have a pack currently. Just me and my twin brother who is also an Alpha. So you would have quite a bit of responsibility.” He said as they sat in the booth at the diner. “You ready for that?”

Aden rested his head against his hands as he tried to relax. His muscles were definitely tense, but he hoped that a little one-on-one from his boyfriend would help ease it. He let out a soft groan as Colin’s fingers worked at his muscles. “It’s good... But you can definitely go harder.” he said, looking over his shoulder for a moment before he closed his eyes again.

The Shaman was entirely calm, simply watching his surroundings as they awaited in the cave. He understood this was a ritual, and that a certain outcome was expected. His companion, however, continued to bounce his leg on the floor, sitting on a crate with both hands tied behind his back. Unlike him, the younger man had been chosen as the second part of the ‘sacrifice’, someone to be taken against their will. The whole purpose of this was to calm the rage of the giant man that lived in these woods— because the people of the village thought he was the embodiment of some ancient deity or something. “You should calm down” Argalian spoke in a low whisper, gathering some wood before them to light a small fire.

Night was beginning to fall over them, and he didn’t want to be caught by wolves before the creature found them. Unlike Jacob, the Shaman wasn’t tied or restrained— he had accepted the fate, and was much willing to make sure this went as expected. “Stop telling me what to do” the younger man spat out” his heart beating so fast his ears were beginning to ring, and every sound outside, amplified by the echo of the cave, made him think the creature was just waiting to dismember them both in a minute. “Why the fuck would you agree to this? This is barbaric”.

“What do you want now?” the blond said with annoyance as he growled the words into the microphone of his phone. He’d had to get excused from work for a couple minutes to take this bloody phonecall, and he was already dreading every second of it. “I already sent you the money you asked, what else do you want?” the man on the other side of the phone had been blackmailing him for a good three months. He didn’t mind giving away the cash every now and then— well, he did of course, but not as much as being interrupted in the middle of a job.

It was a stench; one that spark some ancient thrum of disdain from root to bough and to the skies that had always bore witness to such truths. For those who had come to walk had dared to walk further—to creep, to claim, to consume and sate their insatiable hunger for what had always been the root of their boon. Truants. Thieves. And it was the very reason why fatal demise was made to loom over them the moment he stepped foot into the woods that the archdruid had called his home. The man was anything but noble --------- not when he had dared to come to the realm just like any other man before him. Intrusive. Invasive. Now, with the kind of beauty that he possessed—the kind of strength that had him look more of a ripened fruit than a mighty lord, perhaps it would be best to see if he should return the favor. That with the promise of a sweet cool river nearby, he waited—to see what could come unraveled once brawn demanded rest.
