Older bikes are a blast to ride but sometimes if you let them sit for too long, the carburetor jets can get clogged. While restoring our 1986 Honda XR600R project bike we ran into a similar problem — It would not idle without the choke on. But before tinkering with the finicky dual-carb system, we decided to give Motul Fuel System Cleaner a try first. After letting it chew on it for about 20 minutes, the XR was back to running perfectly again — saving us the hassle of a full teardown and manual cleaning. This stuff also works great on gummed up fuel injector nozzles or carbon-deposited combustion chambers and intake valves. Good to have some in the garage if the need arises.
