Checking his watch, Dallas clicked his tongue absentmindedly. It was late, later than he’d originally planned but things had been. Well-- they’d been kind of a mess. He resigned from his job at one of the local high school’s expecting to pick up a position at a K-8. Expecting being the key word. Cause it bombed and after a scramble to find a new position, he was more than a little exhausted. He hadn’t missed it, not completely. He’d gotten Nova a card at the very least but...it wasn’t up to his usual standard. He could do much better, so when Nova bet him to asking him out on a make up date, he was a bit...nervous? He shouldn’t be. Things were as good as they could be with her. There was tension, sure, he was fucking dying to talk about the bomb she’d laid on him a few weeks ago. But he couldn’t pressure her. Knowing that and resisting the urge to? They were two very different things.
Dallas took a look at the entryway mirror and tilted his head. He looked sharp. Cut his hair, trimmed up his facial hair, pressed his shirts. Partly because he’d finally started his new position the day before. But he wanted to impress her and maybe make up for Valentine’s Day. Maybe it was too much though. Fixing his bowtie, he wrinkled his nose a bit and called out.
“Are you doing ok? Because if you’re having second thoughts, I don’t mind staying in. We can grab some take out and have our own little bistro dinner...”
